The Upon Further Review

Lessons learned and the machinations made play a key role in HOTD S3:E4. In an episode filled with people reverting back to their old ways and surprisingly showing compassion, one person made a lasting impact: Ormund Hightower. It’s made clear that the generational trauma is being handed down like freckles and the kids can only make decisions based on what they’ve learned. Can we just blame everything on Viserys and call it a day?

As we conclude the two-part episode of the origin of Apocalypse, we see Magneto convince his frenemy Charles to go along with his goofy plan of tricking En Sabah Nur to find a way home. Of course this doesn’t work, and the ramifications of Charles withholding information comes back to bite them in the butt. Kang reveals himself in the funniest way, while Magneto tries to correct his wrongs.

Disclosure Day, by one of our greatest directors Steven Spielberg, is a conspiracy thriller masquerading as a sci-film flick. The point of the film has not escaped us, but we definitely talk about some its glaring issues, things we loved, and laugh at some things that are probably not meant to be funny. If you saw Disclosure Day, let us know in comments how you felt about it.

We were blessed to have Questlove produce an excellent documentary about the band that has had the most influence on our lives: Earth, Wind, & Fire. Even though we highlight all of the band members, it’s really a documentary that focuses on Maurice, the visionary and founder of EWF. This is one of the more honest, open, heartfelt, and interesting musical documentaries made to date. With secrets unearthed and revelations revealed, we learn a lot about the influence and impact of EWF over the decades.

Spider-Noir on Amazon Prime is a take on the black and white Spider-Man from the comics and is played by Nicolas Cage, who also played a version of this character from Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse. This post WW1/prohibition/Great Depression era world sees Ben Reilly, a retired Spider-Man who has to find a new reason to be a hero, since the normal Spidey tragedy happens to him. This is a fairly true to the classic film noir stylings and Cage goes full Nick Cage and we absolutely loved it.
