From the potential Insurrection Act to the bullhorn from ICE agents stating that the killing of Renee Nicole Good is a sign of things to come, Trump is making it clear where he wants America to go and we can't go there with him.

On her show #deadlinewhitehouse, Nicolle Wallace mentioned the fact that no #goldenglobe winners made a statement. Others like Mark Ruffalo spoke from the red carpet as well as the host. She along with Rick Stengel also called out the business communities and law firms and other places that have abandoned us. The people with the most to lose are speaking up the most. There should be real consequences for this in the form of protests, canceled subscriptions, boycotts, buycotts, and other things. They made their careers because of the laws of free speech and expression in this country but here we are. What do you think?

I’ve heard so many news outlets say that Tom Homan deserves credit for saying to wait for an investigation into the killing of #reneenicolegood. He is one of the main people responsible for the terroristic action of ICE and Custom Border Patrol. He regularly dehumanizes people and he doesn’t deserve a pass for trying to cover his behind.

As we continue to uplift the life of Renee Nicole Good and her family, we have to be honest in recognizing that this happens in Black communities on a regular basis and we are often not believed. Like many of the people defending the killer, we are regularly dehumanized. There are many lessons that Black America's experiences with law enforcement can teach us if we are willing to listen. Nicole should be here today as so many other people should be. We are also well-versed in watching these killers go free. Will this be a turning point? I am not yet convinced.

he killing of Renee Nicole Good reminds me of the murder of Viola Liuzzo on March 25, 1965 by the Ku Klux Klan. Like Good, Liuzzo was defamed by her government for her actions. Like Liuzzo, Good was getting in "good trouble" like the late congressman John Lewis said we must do. This is America, but it does not have to be. Good was not a domestic terrorist as #kristinoem called her before even knowing the story. This is who THEY are, but it does not have to be who WE are. Stand UP!

Trump just kidnapped a whole president of another country. This is just the beginning. He built the entire campaign on lies and America just went along with it. The world is just watching as a criminal administration conducts more criminal activities. What Trump is illegal, period. He has shown, once, again, that in the United States, there are only norms, no laws depending on who you are. Americans must stand up!

As we honor the brave people who fought to keep the democratic experiment possible, it's important to recognize that the #insurrection 5 years ago was not a one off. The insurrection is ongoing. It started after Trump lost, continued on January 6th, and continues to this day. #trump will succeed in taking over the country if more people stay complacent and don't engage in the fight for freedom and the principles set by the #constitution. What Are you willing to do to prevent the takeover of The United States? Trump grows stronger by the day and we have to be #upstanders to challenge this if this democratic experiment is to continue.

This is the subject of my next book "Trigger Words." The original term was created in 1952 as part of the Cold War terminology The Cold War ended. Now the term is used in a racist way to describe non-western countries in a way that looks at them as uncivilized as being worthy of coming to live in the western world. Just look at Stephen Miller's recent posts over the holidays to show how the term is used today. It is racist. It is disrespected and it needs to go. What do you think?
