    (1) Have I approached this matter with a good and honest heart praying to God for wisdom and seeking the counsel of wise and godly men and women?

    (2) Am I seeking and facing up to ALL of the truth on a difficult moral issue; or am I trying to hold to the dogmas and traditions of men; or am I just insisting on having my own way?

    (3) Am I humbly willing to accept that sometimes there are no easy answers to some of life's most difficult questions; and will I remain open to the possibility that God is still growing me more and more into the image of Christ, and that he has more to teach me?
