We have the promise of being with Jesus when we die. This can even be preferrable to life on earth (Philippians 1; 2 Corinthians 5). So, why did God raise Jesus from the dead? And why did he promise to raise us (with our bodies) from the dead? Among many reasons, consider two:
(1) Resurrection is needed to deal with (and reverse) sin, injustice, and death.
(2) Resurrection is needed to restore Christian relationships.
