The Victory Podcast

Have you ever heard of Doubting Thomas? He was one of Jesus’ disciples and was known to doubt aspects of Jesus ministry and resurrection. When Jesus rose from the grave, Thomas stated he would not believe without seeing Jesus and touching his wounds from the cross. He needed to see to believe. Jesus states, “Blessed are those who have not seen, yet believe.” In this sermon we will learn about the countless promises fulfilled, proofs of the resurrection, and God’s presence in our life through Word and Sacrament that enable us to believe without seeing.

Sermon Text: John 20:24-29

Preacher: Pastor Bill Limmer

Jesus was mocked while he hung on the cross. People taunted him by saying, “If you are really the Son of God, save yourself.” Sometimes we want God to prove himself to us in the way we think is best. But if God had listened to his mockers, the world wouldn’t have been saved. In this sermon, we will understand that God acts according to his plan, purpose, power and for our salvation.

We easily get confused on what we want and need. Jesus performed many miracles including healing a crippled man and enabling him to walk. In this sermon we will learn how to pursue the greater work of God and pursue His promises.

The Lord uses us in our weakness to show his glory and to do things we could never do on our own. God provided Aaron to help Moses. God parted the Red Sea as Moses stretched out his hand. In this sermon, we will explore the different instances where God used Moses to let His glory shine though.

Sermon Text: Exodus 4:10-12

Preacher: Pastor Ben Sadler

One reason we don’t pray is because we are struggling, even suffering. Life is not turning out the way we wanted. We might even be mad at God and blame God for our situation, and so we don’t go to God in prayer. But instead of running from God in our pain, we are to go to him with our laments, pleading for his intervention.

Sermon Text: Psalm 13

Preaching Pastor: Pastor Bill Limmer

One way to start our conversation with God is “Thank you!” The Bible says every good and perfect gift comes from above. When we thank God for all the ways he continues to provide for us, it changes us. It stops us from thinking about ourselves and our problems and it puts our focus back on God and all the good things he is doing for us.
