Tonight’s #TuesdayTakeOver is the Head of the Information and Cyber Security Centre and Chief Researcher at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). He is an NRF-rated researcher (C2), a certified cybersecurity manager, and a research fellow at Stellenbosch University. Additionally, he serves as the technical leader of the National Policy Data Observatory, a Department of Science and Innovation initiative aimed at supporting data-driven decision-making and policy formulation in government. As we observe Cybersecurity month, he will together with his guests unpack themes under the cyber security

For six months, Zodwa Zwane grappled with the disbelief of being Winnie Madikizela-Mandela’s personal assistant. At a national memorial service, she shared her heartfelt memories of the woman she now lovingly refers to as “my mother, friend, and boss.”

Our guest has recounted her unexpected journey to the role, highlighting how her initial conversation with Madikizela-Mandela revolved around fashion rather than a formal interview. Despite the unconventional start, she received a call the following day, officially offering her the position. Reflecting on that moment, Zwane has already expressed her gratitude simply for the chance to meet such an iconic figure. Our guest was Winnie Madikizela’s personal assistant for 11 years.
