Youth Agenda South Africa (YASATM) was founded in 2020, after the founder, Phiwe having recognised the dire need to improve the high unemployment rate among the youth and how to better the lives through entrepreneurship and curb the increase in rise of social ills such as rape, GBV, femicide, inadequate sex education, which was contributing to to teenage pregnancy.

Howard Gabriels has extensive experience at a strategic leadership level in the public sector, having held various positions in the public sector and being the chairperson of the Statistics Council between 2005 and 2013. He completed a M Phil (Urban and Regional Science) at the Stellenbosch University in 2012. He has a B Sc. Degree (Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics) and a B. Econ (Honours) degree from UWC.
