Whether it be going through an illness or a drought on our farm, we can do it. In this week's episode I discuss my struggle with the Brown Tail Moth rash and a series of migraines that lasted for 7 days. It is also Food Story Friday so I discuss a book I am reading by Kristin Kimball called "Good Husbandry". 

In her book she describes the lives of her and her family as they struggle through the challenges of working a farm. It has its ups and downs, trials and triumphs and at the end of the day, rewards. It is and interesting read and I highly encourage you to pick it up at either your library or local bookstore.

Last but not least is the recipe for counteracting the itch of the Brown Tail Moth Caterpillar:

1/4 cup witch hazel

1/2 tube hydrocortisone cream

1/2 tube diphenhydramine cream

1/4 tube aspercream or lidocaine cream

You can also use duct tape on affected area to remove the caterpillar hairs and then apply cream.
