142. Do You Have a Mentor?
Today’s episode is about mentoring. A mentor is an experienced and trusted advisor. They are the people that have had enough time in their career to share with you what they have learned and help guide you on your journey. Having a mentor can be a game changer for your career. Mentors can share their career experiences with you and help you see a different perspective. Mentoring has played an important role in my career and in so many of the leaders that I know.

141. How Are You Being Perceived?
Today’s episode is about your perception and how that can impact your career opportunities. At a basic level your perception is how people in your organization view your leadership and your work. We used to say all the time that right or wrong, your perception is reality. If you are being viewed in the way that you want, then your perception equals the reality. However, if you are being viewed in a way that is very different than how you want, then you have to ask yourself the following questions: Will the current perception hold me back in my career? Do I want to be seen differently by my management? If the answer is yes to both of those questions, then you will need to do the work to shift how you show up so you can be seen in the way that you want.

140. Embracing Your Role as a Leader
In today’s episode we are going to explore the question, are you embracing your role as a leader? When you step into a leadership role, it is important to be consistent, intentional and have the recognition that it is a continuous learning journey. Your team and your management want you to lead and expect that from you. Sometimes it is just a shift in your own mind that is the biggest change you need to make. Believing that you can do this and experimenting with what works best for you.

139. Relationships Make the Difference
In this episode, I will be focused on how relationships can make a difference for you as a leader and being known by others. Having strong relationships are beneficial in so many ways, but I don’t think that people always think of their relationships in the way that they should. Having these connections and relationships to lean on is an asset for your professional network and reputation that you need more than you realize. You can’t do it all by yourself and the higher you go, the more important relationships become.

138. Are You Maximizing Your Potential?
I’ve been thinking a lot about potential lately. I was digging deeper into the question, what are you giving up by not being visible? There are many answers to that question, but here are a few examples: You don’t get the opportunities that you deserve. You are unable to maximize your potential and achieve the career success you want. You don’t have what you want in your personal life either if it is driven by what your professional life could give to you. You want to do more but aren’t sure how to do something to help yourself. What if you asked yourself the question: did I maximize my potential this week? Would your answer change your actions for the next week?

137. Embrace Your Imperfections
Today’s episode is focused on how to embrace your imperfections. We have all grown up with programming and messages from our families, teachers, media, society, culture, etc. that tell us what we are “supposed” to do in our lives. Some of these messages may include: get good grades, go to a good school, get a good job, get married, have children, save for retirement, follow the rules, don't talk back, respect your elders, etc. You get the gist of the messages that we have all heard and internalized over many years. These messages, also known as stories, may instill some sort of ideal picture into your head that you have to be perfect and act in a perfect way. Why would someone strive to be perfect? Usually, it is viewed as a way to gain the approval of others.
