Mónica Huarte was born in México City. She studied theatre at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, earned an acting degree at the Foro de la Ribera in México City, and has additionally studied at the Estudio Juan Carlos Corazza in Madrid, Spain and the Stella Adler Academy of Acting and Theatre in Los Angeles. She has starred in my plays and musicals around the world, such as The shape of things directed by Antonio Serrano, the musical Avenue Q in México City playing Kate Monster, and the Mexican musical Mentiras, among others. She has also appeared in films like Cansada de besar sapos (2007) for which she received a Silver Goddess for her role as Daniela, Volverte a ver (2008) for which she received another Silver Goddess as best supporting actress, Casi Divas (2008), Efectos Secundarios (2006), Malos hábitos (2005), Sin ton ni Sonia (2003), and Without Men with Eva Longoria and Christian Slater (2010), among others. She is well-known for her comedy skills, having performed her own standup comedy and published her first comedy play, Terapia para la sed.
