Todays guest is a legend in the Edmonton comedy scene and has been one of the nicest most supportive people to me since the day I met him.  It is my greta pleasure to introduce to y'all, my boy, Dan Brodrib.  Dan has recently returned to comedy after a multi year hiatus and even though he has more seniority than most fo the comedy scene he still treats everyone like his equal and gives some of the best advice around.  Not only is Dan a super funny guy but his warmth and genuine kindness is infectious and when Dan shows up to a show every comic is happier for it!  Come check out our 3 hour conversation all about comedy and life, Dan has so much wisdom you cannot go wrong whether or not you are as much of a comedy nerd as we are!

Yes we are aware the Oilers lost a stinker to the worst team in the league mere hours after we recorded this. Yes we are aware we did not break the reverse retro curse. Yes we are aware that whenever we talk shit about them the oilers do amazing and whenever we sing their praises they shit the bed. Now that we have that out of the way..... We are back with an amazing episode of Oilers Uncensored.  We cover the six game win streak including whats changed and who is responsible.  We also talked trades, big stories around the league, LIV golf, a touch of MMA and a few other random rabbit holes as we always do.

I know I say this every week but this might be the best OU to date! They just keep getting better! Give it a gander and pass it to any and all friends that love hockey, the oilers, or having fun and laughing in general! 

People have been loving the solo episodes a ton lately and I've wanted to do more and more of them to give the people what they want but I had been struggling to find my voice.  This episode felt so damn good to just drop into the flow and speak from the heart. Life is full of ups and downs and I love nothing more than talking it out with all of you listeners.  It may not be therapy but it sure does help! Todays guest is one of the best up and coming comedians in the city. He was raised on the mean streets of St. Albert and is now shredding rooms all over Alberta with his jokes.  We chatted all about comedy, podcasting, A.I. and all sorts of other topics but my personal favourite topic was college basketball.  Noah has a such a deep passion for it that it immediately hooked me and I've never heard someone so eloquently explain why college basketball is so amazing before.  We decided that we will have to do another podcast before March Madness this year to try to capture even more of the magic but Noah was such a natural podcast guest I don't know if i can wait that. long to have him back!

If you weren't able to join us for the livestream on twitch last night here is the episode in its entirety.  Definitely felt a little weird podcasting live but I'm very excited to keep practicing and explore the new facets live stream podcasts bring.  I talked about a podcast that is yet to be released with local comic Noah Brodeur about how excited I am for the conversation to be out out in the world and specifically a few concepts we bandied about during it.  I also spent some time talking about the amazing youtube channel Joke WRLD and how much of my life has been spent watching their content since Noah turned me onto them.  The rest of the chat was fairly sports heavy with some NHL/Oilers talk and a whole pile of MMA.  I know a lot fo people don't like MMA and tell me they usually skip it but i think the conversation here goes well beyond the sport and is an interesting look at the business and podcasts/media surrounding the sport I love so much.  Even if tis not for you please give it a try I bet you will be pleasantly surprised!

Today we welcome Kale Hancock back onto the podcast to hear first hand how his experience in Residence at the UofA has gone after his first semester.  This episode is packed with wisdom for anyone going through university, getting ready to soon or debating on wether or not it is right for them.  We discuss the social aspects (obviously lol), coursework, study habits, dating, extracurriculars, test taking mindset, and most importantly just how to squeeze the most out of the experience.  If you know anyone around university age this is a great conversation to pass on to them and i'm sure at least one piece of knowledge will stick and help avoid one of the many pitfalls that lay before you in regards to post secondary education! After almost a months hiatus the Oilers Uncensored crew is back! There was so much to discuss that I don't even know where to start, Woodcroft, leadership, penalty kill, playoff chances, officiating, Bedard, defensive woes, the Christmas 5-8 record since we last recorded as well as some mma tidbits and funny stories from the minor hockey days.  As always the podcast ping pongs between hardcore oilers takes and absolutely ridiculous jokes usually at our own expense.  Where else will you get this passionate of Oilers takes combined with a barrel of laughs every episode? No where mother truckers!!! Give er a whirl!

As you may have noticed the podcasts me and Jayde have been recording under the banner of The NVW show has received a little name change! The NVW show was always supposed to be a live-streamed show that developed with input from the  viewers and involved current events form a producer type on all of my favourite subjects. I still want to make that show someday but todays episode was so impactful and emotional it deserved to be the inaugural episode of the Nick+Jayde Podcast. We covered our respective months since we recorded last including Jayde's new roommates, friends and most importantly self realizations. Along with a breakdown of my breakneck rollercoaster ride of a one month crush/fling/romance or who friggin knows what to call it.  The episode was very vulnerable and had some serious tears and emotions and you have to listen to the end because thats where it gets the deepest so no skipping out on us!

The VDC is back with a vengeance with todays guest Ahmed Ahmed! He is a staple of the Edmonton comedy scene and wears the crown of "funniest dude in sandals" with the gravitas of a king!  Ahmed has lived a crazy life and you can hear all about it in this conversation. A very merry Christmas and a happy new year to all of you beautiful people! Courtney had the awesome idea to run me through the year end review journal prompts she has been doing for the last 4 years and see what kind of things it would bring up!  I was getting over a sickness so I wasn't as sharp as I would have liked to be but for a half sick impromptu podcast I though it was pretty damn great! I hope you have all managed to stay warm over the holidays and were surrounded by much love from family and friends, and if not just know that even if you feel completely alone, I love you.
