Hello everyone! Thank you for listening and welcome back. Today's topic is about accountability and how having self-accountability is different for everyone. Checking in with ourselves is important as our emotions are valid. Going into my new role was nerve racking as I did not know how I would fit in with the new team I would be part of. Taking a leap of faith really has been life changing because in my new role I have been able to work with incredible women and organizations that support the community. I have always wanted to work in a field that helps the community and now that I am in this field I get to grow professionally. I'm excited to keep learning and meeting new people that also want to keep uplifting and support our communities.  

Grief is a process that can be experience in many ways. Today's episode I talk about how I have been experiencing the grief of losing my soul dog. It's okay to feel all the emotions we feel and to process them and to seek support from our loves ones and even professionally. My life has took a big turn because I have to live with the pain of losing my fur baby and this is a topic that needs to be talked about more. Season 2 of the vulnerable Latina podcast has been an incredible journey because I was able to share many experiences as a first gen. Ama is a chingona who raised five kids on her own after Apa was deported due to his addiction. My parents broke up and Ama took all the responsibilities. Ama worked a lot throughout the years and now that I'm older I can tell her how much I love her and all the sacrifices she had to do for my siblings and me. I enjoy seeing my mom being happy now that all her kids are older and see how she loves her grandchildren. Single parents you all are doing great because you all are warriors for your kids. 

In today's episode I talk about what is it like working in the mental health field and how it can take a toll on our own mental health and make us feel exhausted. I also talk about how in my Mexican household when I say I'm tired my emotions on this is not valid because I don not do the physical work my family does. Navigating the mental health filed has taught me a lot of professional skills that will help me for the next professional role I want next. This week I get my first work bonus and this is something new to me because I used to work at warehouses and be an ABA for children with autism and these organizations did not give holiday money to their employees. Fall can bring joy but also a variety of emotions that can affect our mental health. Today's podcast touches on how we can ask for help and not isolate our support system through the times we are not feeling well. Growing up asking for help was not an option and it wasn't until I went to therapy that I realized asking for help is an option. We can also check-in with those around us and offer our support if they are going through a hard time. Saying no to my family is also a topic I touch on today's podcast and it's still an on going process because growing up this is not common. Birthday are what you want to make it. You decided who you want to spend it with and how. Birthdays are not just to celebrate another year of life but to create moments you want to create. This weekend I turn 25 and this has been the best Birthday weekend ever because I got to make it what I wanted with the people I wanted to be with. I reconnected with my siblings that we even went together to get tattoos and I also cooked my family dinner and make them feel loved. I told my family how much I appreciated them and for coming and being part of my support system. 25 is just the beginning for a new chapter in my life. Follow the IG @thevulnerablelatina
