A quick story about Justin’s Butch and Sundance kid moments at work recently. How two people can be supportive and complement the other persons blind spots. How important it is to communicate that to one another so it’s clear what the expectations are in the relationship and how to minimize disappointment.

Water was the word today and for John it was connect to his week even more than he realized. For Justin, today’s word was more of a blank canvas that he worked with to discuss what that word means to him. What does the word mean to you? Do you need to be more fluid? Can you have the strength of the ocean? Or the calmness of a Lake? Perhaps you need to be all these things and more depending on the situation.

John just finished his first draft of his first book and we wanted to talk about the focus it took to accomplish that goal. We also discussed some challenges that Justin faced due to the lack of focus by people on his team at work. The importance of focus allows you to organize your time to do what is most important to you and allows you to maximize your time.

We took the opportunity to use our time on the road today to record the podcast since we both had hours of drive time in front of us. This was our first “on the road” episode. On the show, we discussed creating, seizing, capitalizing, seeking, and maximizing opportunities this week. We discussed how having a mindset of pushing yourself to achieve your goals and how your approach to all things is a reflection on your ability to get opportunities presented to you because of that mindset in all things.

We discuss how to push yourself to do things that we can sometimes make excuses for. Especially if it is connect to the things in life that you prioritize, you Why. We discuss some Why Nots for us moving forward and ask the listens to consider doing something that are important things in your life and answering the question...Why Not?
