Some of our ladies from The Wāhine Collective's Podcast are going through big transitions in their lives. Career change, higher education, new school, new job, and a new season! On this episode, we invite you to an inside scoop in our lives, our feelings, and some advice that we would like to share with you.
We really miss traveling 😢 Let’s take a trip down memory lane by sharing our traumatic travel stories! On this episode, we have Connie, Liza, Aries, and Tati talk through missing flights, overcharged baggages, traveling during COVID and more. We hope you enjoy this episode ❤️ Don’t forget to follow our IG @thewahineco for more info on our next podcast!
This week, Io joins us to talk about the lessons we've learned from dealing with difficult people and our varying perspectives as males and females. Io also sheds some light about what it's like dealing with people every day as a Honolulu policeman. We're not always happy in these situations, but we've found growth and empathy amongst failure and discomfort. 🌱✨
We are back for season 2!! We missed you 💗 This season we’ll uncover hard topics, have more vulnerability, and navigate our thoughts all on our podcast. Tourism is no stranger to Hawaiʻi. In our first episode of season 2, The Wāhine Collective expresses their thoughts on tourism in Hawaiʻi, our experiences living here, and the impact tourism has made to the islands. Each of our points of views on this topic were different as some of us were born and raised in Hawaiʻi, moved to Hawaiʻi and moved away from Hawaiʻi. Listen in to what we have to say on this episode. ✨✨
It's been a year since we put our heads together and started thinking of how to implement our plan for The Wāhine Collective. 🥂🎉 In those beginning moments, we never thought our lives would look the way they do now. We've learned and we've grown, and we've had the chance to meet our little group of online friends. Thanks for following us on our journey! We can't wait to reveal to you the new things brewing in the next season, after the girls take a quick summer break. Chat soon! 💗
No matter what stage of life we’re in, all of us on The Wāhine Collective team could think of one person in our lives that has been a mentor to us at one point or another. Our mentors, whether formal or informal, have helped teach, encourage and guide us along in life. In this episode, we chat about our ideas on mentorship. We hope all of you will have the privilege one day to be taken under the wing of an invested mentor, and if not—start by putting your best self out there! 👯♂️⭐️
We are all for sustainability! Being sustainable not only helps us to save our precious earth for the future—it helps save it in the NOW. The depletion of the earth's resources is happening at a rapid rate and we need to work together to slow it down 😔. But honestly, being sustainable can be difficult, especially the way the world works. Convenience often upstages a sustainable lifestyle. @blairelangston, a Hilo resident, who works at The Nature Conservancy and graduated with a Master's in Natural Resources and Environmental Management at the University of Hawa'i at Mānoa, relays that sustainability may be intimidating, but shows us how to change little things in our daily lives and mindsets to help creating a happier and healthier earth that will be able to house many more generations to come. 🌏✨♻️
In this bonus episode, the girls talk story about our struggles, tips, and journeys with becoming financially independent women living in expensive cities, free from our parents, or even partners.
Because Lord knows we need the help! This week, we asked Cari Kayanan, a licensed financial strategist and insurance agent (who is about to purchase her second home), to speak with us about where in the world to start with money. A lot of us, unfortunately, have NO idea where to start when it comes to saving money, budgeting, or investing and feel too intimidated and lost to get help. Whether you're still paying student loans, thinking about buying a home in the future for a family, or just need help--Cari encourages us that anyone can start. Check her out at comprehensivefinancialstrategies.com!
