SESSION EIGHTY NINE - THE END OF A STRANGE TALE - The Strange Ones walked across the all too familiar landscape of Malkaria, they could see the burgundy mountains in the distance, their bloody peaks hazed by ash colored clouds and standing proud over the red wilds. They journeyed back to the city of Atzana where all that time ago they stepped foot onto a war torn kingdom. Along the way the emotions of the return were melded and fused. Relief, sorrow, anticipation, rapture, remorse, and mourning all mingled together as they stepped foot through the city gates. They watched as the wagon bearing the bodies of King Tibrus and General Trexus wheeled down the rainy cobblestones. Giving a parting glance they silently went their separate ways to rest, reflect, or tend to matters of their own. They knew it wouldn't be the last time they saw each other. The funeral for the dead was scheduled to begin only a day after their arrival (Merrel might speak). The funeral came and went, a bleak afare that mourned the deaths of not only King Tibrus but General Trexus, and all the soldiers who died in what historians would later call, “The Crazed Kings Crusade.” Days passed, and The Strange Ones spoke to one another and moved on to other pressing matters, ever avoiding the painful and inevitable. However, a day came where they could no longer ignore the reality… fate was drawing them apart, perhaps temporarily, but all the same it would not be an easy thing to do. As Planned, they would meet that evening at the docks, where it all began, to say their farewells for now and drift apart like birds on the wing. But there was still time before then…

SESSION EIGHTY SEVEN - THE EMERALD EYES WITHIN THE GROTTO - Having been successfully lured away from the battle, The Strange Ones now follow Xul “The Drowned Blade” through the cursed forest. The unnatural oppressive darkness that presided over the forest, held at bay only by Alistars starlight, now seems to wane as they walk further away from the fighting. After only a few moments the pitch seems to slacken and the shapes of the forest around them take form. Ahead, Xul strides confidently towards the center of the forest, his sickly green hood covering his masked face and his sinister longsword illumination the path before him. The sounds of battle rapidly grow less and less profound…although, The Strange Ones are not certain if that is because they are walking away…or because the battle is drawing to a tragic end. The flora of the forest seems to quiver and retreat at Xul’s approach and before long you are standing on the slime covered beach of lake of laments. Xul slowly turns, his mask writhing with ethereal tendrils and his jade eyes piercing the veil of flesh and charisma. His arm stretches out over the murky water which flees at his command. The poisonous fumes that fill the air are dissipated at the churning of the water. As the congealed water parts a path of ancient stepping stones is revealed. Xul silently stands, his eyes beckoning you forward…into the lair of the Darthmore Galgaroth…

SESSION EIGHTY FIVE - A Murder of Ravens - In the early hours of the morning The Strange Ones awake within the humble walls of a rural cabin. The first beams of sunlight shine through the small seams of the wooden shutters and dance across the simple stone floors. The home is quite…silent as a grave…but somehow still warm and inviting. Knowing the home for what it was, a comfortable and peaceful prison cell…brings about sickly sweet emotions for you all. The Strange Ones now juggle the many feelings brought about from the events of the night. They contemplate the near future and uncertainty that comes with such thoughts and prepare to set out on the short journey ahead. A journey that will end on a small Island on the northern coast of Malkaria so far from home. Suppressed and tucked away are the thoughts of events beyond…for now it is best to focus on the present and complete the task at hand. Task after task after task… it's what you've done for so long…

SESSION EIGHTY FIVE - A Murder of Ravens - In the early hours of the morning The Strange Ones awake within the humble walls of a rural cabin. The first beams of sunlight shine through the small seams of the wooden shutters and dance across the simple stone floors. The home is quite…silent as a grave…but somehow still warm and inviting. Knowing the home for what it was, a comfortable and peaceful prison cell…brings about sickly sweet emotions for you all. The Strange Ones now juggle the many feelings brought about from the events of the night. They contemplate the near future and uncertainty that comes with such thoughts and prepare to set out on the short journey ahead. A journey that will end on a small Island on the northern coast of Malkaria so far from home. Suppressed and tucked away are the thoughts of events beyond…for now it is best to focus on the present and complete the task at hand. Task after task after task… it's what you've done for so long…

Hello and welcome to our Dungeons and Dragons Homebrew campaign. We are a close group of friends who have been playing Dungeons and Dragons together for over two years. We just started our second homebrew campaign “The War for Malkaria,” which takes place in the material world of Masathea roughly one hundred years after the events of our first homebrew campaign.
