The Watch-men | A Nerdy Movie & TV Review Podcast

Before Game of Thrones returns for its seventh (and penultimate) season this weekend, let The Watch-men to catch you up on all things Westeros. From the resurrection of Jon Snow to the Battle of the Bastards, Matt and Sam look back at all the key moments of season 6 in anticipation of what’s to come in season 7.

It’s an explosive episode this week as Matt and Sam discuss the mayhem surrounding the upcoming “Young Han Solo” Star Wars movie as well as review Michael Bay’s latest montage of robot “Bayhem” in Transformers: The Last Knight.

After checking out the pilot a couple weeks back, The Watch-men return to American Gods for a review of the entire first season. How do the other episodes stack up to the promising first one? Click above to see what Sam, Matt, and Joyce have to say about American Gods season one!

Tom Cruise’s The Mummy – Universal Studios’ first (and maybe last) film in their newly minted “Dark Universe” monster movie franchise – was announced dead on arrival by pretty much everyone. So, Matt, Sam, and Joyce decided to revisit Brendan Fraser’s 1999 version instead!

New gods battle the old as the Watch-men clash in their review of Starz’s new fantasy series American Gods. Since none of Sam, Matt, or Joyce have read the Neil Gaiman novel it’s based on, the pilot will have to sell them on whether to worship American Gods or leave it behind.

On this episode, Sam investigates a distress signal of unknown origins, only to discover Ridley Scott’s divisive Alien prequel/Prometheus sequel thingy Alien: Covenant (Synthetics and Xenomorphs and Neomorphs, oh my!). Meanwhile, Matt locks and stocks his two smoking… Excaliburs (?!) as he reviews Guy Ritchie’s cockney King Arthur movie.

On this episode of The Watch-men podcast, Matt, Sam and Joyce discuss a monster movie unlike most. The Anne Hathaway starring Colossal pits self-control against dangerous drinking habits but also giant Kaiju against rampaging robot. Does the unique movie mashup work or end in colossal disappointment? Listen above to find out!

The Guardians of the Galaxy dance their way back into theatres. Can vol. 2 live up to the awesomeness of the first? Is there room for heartfelt father-son moments in a movie otherwise loaded with action? And can anyone resist the cuteness that is baby Groot? Find out in this episode of the Watch-men podcast!
