It was a promise of a hoard of pirate gold that could save their town from Yuppie Greed that lured Mike “Mikey” Walsh, Richard “Data” Wang, Clark "Mouth" Devereaux, and Lawrence “Chunk” Cohen to gather for a final weekend together, in search of One-Eyed Willy’s treasure in the 1985 classic, The Goonies. And my friends it is our topic for today. Amanda takes us on a treasure hunting journey with the history,how it’s evolved through the times, and actual found and unfound treasures.


    Our Wacky World News somewhat ties into this as a British philanthropist makes a from the grave roast at the art gallery he funded a wing for. Who said ghosts can’t have fun?

  • S.2 Ep.13 The Otter Creek Ordeal!

    SPECIAL GUEST ALERT!!! This week Amanda’s mom, Margaret, joined us to give us a recap of one of her favorite YouTube saga’s with What the Hale$. This was sparked as Margaret was talking to us before we started recording and we all agreed that this would be an amazing episode. While it may seem a little chaotic (okay, it’s very chaotic) Margaret’s joy in explaining this to us was worth it.

    For those who are not familiar with the What the Hale$ YouTube account, there is a couple, Jeremy and George, that live both in Ohio and Florida who purchase storage units to sell the items in there (kind of like Storage Wars). With their house in Florida, they have a neighbor that has been taking them to court for various offenses which Jeremy and George have been chronologizing on their YouTube account. There are many videos regarding all the legal matters so follow along with Margaret if you’d like! We’re hoping we can get her back in a few weeks to give us another update on this.

    We’re back for 2024 with another season but the same shenanigans! JMo joins us again with Amanda leading her favorite topic, cults. Now we did a high-level overview in Season 1 (Episode 17 in case anyone wanted to take a listen), but this one Amanda talks about a book she recently read titled “The Cult of Trump.” She also put together a fun game for us to determine if people or groups have cult-like qualities.

    Our Wacky World News gives us a throwback to Florida man stories however, this one is a little different. We have some fun following the Brightline train’s saga of hitting people!     of Jackie O on that day and the days after along with the status of her blood stained pink suit.

    Wacky World News sounds like a Florida person story but actually takes place in South Carolina

    at a daycare in which two employees were fired for directing the children to fight each other. We

    had many questions about this one and had a good laugh.

    Picture this, Kelly-Hopkinsville, Kentucky 1955. You’re relaxing with all your family at the farmhouse and suddenly you are attacked by little green men! This week’s episode Chris helps us dissect the events that occurred on this night and share some fun pictures of what the little green men looked like. This event also has some debunking which seemed more plausible than what the eye witness accounts stated. We also discuss our plans to potentially partake in the Little Green Men Days festival that the town celebrates every year if they decide to bring it back.

    The Wacky World News was a hoot and a great Florida person story. Who would have thought tacos could be used as a weapon.

    This week’s episode was a bit of a wild ride. We discuss Operation: High Jump which took place in Antarctica from August 1946 to late February 1947. In keeping with our alien discussion, we converse over Admiral Byrd’s diary account of one specific entry and what he saw upon one of his last returns.
    The Wacky World News was too good this week. Our first topic brings back our favorite state, Florida, and a little bit of Florida Woman story regarding Mountain Dew being used to remove DNA. The second topic occurred back in 2019 but was too funny not to share. Two men were arrested after shooting each other wearing a bulletproof vest in Arkansas. Angela was also able to find some follow-up information for this one after the court hearing in August 2020.
