It isn't often that The Way-Back Music Machine stops in one city and stays there for all three stories, but this week, on Episode 52 of The Way-Back Music Machine, we stay in London for all the stories, including the Memphis to Merseyside segment.

We start talking about Reginald Kenneth Dwight, who was a member of a band that had seemed to run its course. In 1968 Reggie decided to go solo, but first he had to find a better name. He does it on a flight from the U.S.A. to the U.K.

Then we talk about yet another odd one banned by the B.B.C. and if you heard last week's show, you may already be familiar with the song and artist.

Finally, a D.J. being told to pretend to like a song....well it just doesn't end well.

Here we are at show 51!

This week, we have an interesting show in which we remember artists who have kind of been forgotten.

Like Johnnie Ray, a huge artist in the 1950s, especially in the U.K. In the 1950s he topped the charts and yet, here we are 70 years later and he seems to be forgotten. But he had such a voice and stage presence!

Then we are off to Chicago to talk about a band that revolutionized rock and roll. Maybe not the most imaginative album titles, but they made some pretty fine music.

Finally, someone who took the time to plan a rather interesting event in New York City. Very courteous and planning out some misbehaviour.

Wow, episode 49!!!!! We have almost made it to the 50 mark. Can you believe a year of Way Back-Music Machines, and next week will be our 50th road trip through the history of rock and roll.

This week, a stop in Los Angeles as an important, and record-breaking single makes it debut on radio around the world. 5000 stations to be exact. It is a small world, after all, and we are indeed the world.

Next, off to the U.K. for the concert debut of a new 'girl band". Comprised to be the counterpart of the 'boy band' craze, this band had two number one albums and numerous singles. But we talk about their live debut, and no, we did not wear kilts.

Finally an iconic live album makes it way to number one. Live albums existed before, but none had the impact that this album seemed to have. We will talk about someone coming alive, and shattering records, on Episode 49.

This week we explore an early, and some would say pioneering, rap song. This song brought rap into the mainstream and a whole new audience.

Then we visit Sweden, our first time there, for a prestigious award. Who gets it, how does the artist react to the news? How is the award accepted? What is the response from other artists? So many questions and we will answer them.

Finally, is it an urban myth or did it really happen? Did a rock star use his dad as a drug? Confusing question...well, it is a confusing story.

Here we are with episode 47 of The Way-back Music Machine! This journey is mostly in New York, but we get to go to South Africa for the first time.

Many songs are thought to be public domain, in other words, so old that no one really knows who wrote them. Often this assumption is quite wrong. "Danny Boy", "Liverpool Lou" and "Happy Birthday" are all copyrighted and have composers. So does the song we are talking about today, and we went all the way to South Africa and 1939 to learn more.

Then we visit New York for the tragic story of two brothers and a pair of blue suede shoes. Where does Elvis come into all of this? What happened? It is an interesting story.

Finally, a man who, by all rights, should not be dating super models, not only dates a super model (or two) but also marries one. More on the red-haired girl in the Chevrolet when we talk about this story in New York City.

Here we are, we have driven thousand of miles and landed at show 46!!!! Wow! And we keep on rolling.

This week, as we celebrate Tony's Birthday on March 15, we also look at a special week for the U.K. singles charts. It is a first and was quite revolutionary.

Then we go to Los Angeles for a horrific tale of torture, ok, I exaggerated but it is a creepy story that will keep you up at night.

Then we head back to the U.K. for a solo album, by a guy named Paul, which proved to be his first solo album. No, it has nothing to do with Paul McCartney, but it was this artist's first solo number album and technically his second solo release. We explore and explain.

It may be hard to believe but we are on road trip number 45!

This week, we look back on the day an iconic and influential band finally got signed to a record label. The rest is history, a 60 year history as the band is still going strong.

Then, we remember the passing of George Michael, another iconic figure in rock and pop. We look at the day the coroner announced the cause of his death. But we remember his music, talent and humour.

Finally, we go to New York City in 1967 and visit Andy Warhol and a band he has helped to get a record deal with an album he produced.

Here we are, Episode 44. This week he Way-Back Music Machine hits the road for New York City to see an iconic rock star form a band.

The Beatles played on Ed Sullivan and inspired a whole generation of musicians. One of those is so successful that he has broken records at Madison Square Garden in the greatest run of arena shows in music history.

Then we are off to Moscow to visit a band who spoke their mind and paid the price. Call it punk, or call it good old fashioned rock and roll.

Finally a legal matter of a different sort, leading one of the biggest rock bands in rock history to play in the, then, small city of Oshawa Ontario. Learn about the reason for that show as we explore another iconic rock group.

Here we are at Episode 43 of The Way-Back Music Machine.

This week, we look, or rather explore, or rather talk about an app that measures a part of the male anatomy. What does this have to do with rock and roll? Well, you will have to listen to this week's episode of The Way-Back Music Machine to find out. After all, it is Valentine's Day week.

Which brings us to another male artist who decides to make a stand at the site of The Alamo. Again, it may be hard to believe, but sadly it is true, and it is kind of funny.

We also look at a 19 year old woman who releases her debut album and becomes the first female singer/songwriter artist to ha ve a self-penned number one single in the U.K.. The fact it is written about an Emily Bronte novel makes all the more intriguing.

Finally, Bart Simpson hits number one, with a song written by a very famous artist, although the artist at the time, never received credit. Actually, you may learn a little about The Simpsons when you listen in.
