September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and this episode of The Way Forward – A Kindness Mission focuses on a conversation that can help save lives.
Tony and Cassi Bellezza are joined by Keri Hill, staff Chaplain for Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministries (ABCCM), to discuss QPR Suicide Prevention Training and how everyday people can learn to recognize warning signs, start difficult conversations and help connect someone in crisis with support.
QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer — three simple steps that can give people the confidence and tools to respond when someone may be struggling.
In this episode, Keri shares:
• How her personal and professional journey led her to suicide prevention work
• What QPR training is and how it works
• Who can benefit from QPR training
• Common misconceptions surrounding suicide prevention
• The connection between ADHD, mental health and supporting young people
• Why kindness, listening and human connection matter
• How each of us can play a role in helping someone who may be struggling
CONTENT NOTE: This episode includes discussion of suicide and suicide prevention. Please take care while listening. If you or someone you know is struggling or experiencing thoughts of suicide, call or text 988 to connect with the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the U.S.

We also explore how sports can become a powerful vehicle for growth, confidence, self-belief, and connection when children are given the right tools and support.
This conversation is filled with practical insights, encouragement, and hope for parents, coaches, educators, and anyone passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
We are also excited to share that Anthony's Way – The Road to Kindness is partnering with Thinklete to provide additional resources and support opportunities for the children and families we serve through our Comprehensive Care Roadmap.
