Jesus tells us a scary story, that of a great judgment where the Shepherd Lord separates all peoples into two groups: sheep and goats. We long to be one of his sheep yet struggle to live like one. But thanks be to God, no one becomes a sheep by living like one. We who come when Christ calls have this as a promise: he will make us servants of all peoples, down to the very least among us, just as he himself serves us by grace alone.
