Jim Jackson reminds us this week that even when we hurt others - and "don't know what we're doing" like the people at the crucifixion in Luke 23 - Jesus forgave us 2,000 years ago. All we have to do is accept it.

Welcome back to The Wayside Podcast!
Our conversation this week is a continuation of one of our themes this season: to sow practical seeds of faith in our lives and those around us, particularly our families.
Today's guest is Marty Machowski, a Family Pastor and an author of gospel-rich books and curriculum for children, families, and churches. As a faithful husband and father, Marty delights in spending time with his wife and kids. Marty is an accomplished artist, inventor, and outdoorsman, but his greatest passion is his love for the Lord Jesus Christ and proclaiming the life-transforming gospel message to the next generation.
Marty's book, "The Ology," gives kids of all ages a beginner's theology book to help them understand who God is and how we, as his children, relate to him. Designed for six-year-olds through preteens, this flexible resource includes built-in adaptations for use with younger or older children, so that entire families can enjoy it together.

CW: Suicide
We want to warn listeners that our conversation this week is about suicide. September is Suicide Prevention Month and we had a conversation with parishioner and author Clayton Trier. Clayton’s new novel, "The Outskirts of Redemption," chronicles the story of a young man in East Texas who has a life-changing experience when a close friend dies by suicide.
If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or a crisis, please call or text the national suicide lifeline at 988.

Jesus tells us in a parable from Matthew 20 that God's ways are higher than our ways, even though it might be hard to see. Jane calls us this week to give up on fairness in pursuit of God's grace in those times.

Welcome back to The Wayside Podcast!
Season 2 has arrived! We're very excited to share another year of life and conversation "by the wayside" with you all - we have some wonderful plans for this season that you won't want to miss.
We're beginning our new season with a very special guest: St. Martin's very own Ashley Monachelli, Director of Children's Ministries. One of our most consistent points of constructive feedback from the past year was a desire for practical discussion - how can we apply these often complex ideas and theology in everyday life?
Ashley brings years of experience in education - in both public schools and churches - to help us sow seeds of faith in our families, particularly our children.
Be sure to check back for Part Two next week, wherever you get your podcasts.
