Beer #1: Fast Fashion DIPA - Stillwater Artisanal (Baltimore, MD) Hop forward but not overly beefy. Fruity and dank with a solid citrusy body.

Beer #2: One Day My IPA Will Have Something To Say About This - EvilTwin Brewing (Copenhagen, Denmark by way of New York) 7%. Soft and easy drinking. More fruity but it keeps you wanting to drink it.

We discuss Evil Twin’s Molotov series of beer.

Jake had a low key week. Beers from Winter Hill (Somerville, MA) and Backlash Beer (Boston, MA). He explored Moody St. in Waltham, MA. The food truck/restaurant styles are wildly varied in Boston.

Beer #3: Multiflora - Decadent Ales (Mamaroneck, NY) 9.6% This beer is beefy. It’s strong but still smooth and not overly boozy.

We were at Dancing Gnome (Sharpsburg, PA) for a beer release this week! (Dakota Line - DIPA 9%)

Beer #4: Hallo Ich Bin Berliner Weisse - Mikkeller (Copenhagen, Denmark) 4.5%. Looks like blueberry juice, smells like farts (like any good sour). Very light and not overly sour.

We went to Couch Brewery (Pittsburgh, PA) for their FIRST CAN RELEASE!! (Atomic Meltdown - Habanero Amber Ale 6.3%). Shout out to Cary, the head brewer for chatting with us for an extended period about all things Couch! Look out for more cans coming soon!

We discuss, at length, Jake’s Chipotle order.

Ryan: White Rajah - Brew Kettle (Strongsville, OH) (6.8% IPA)

Alex: Toucan Slam - Strange Roots (Gibsonia, PA) (5.4% Wild Ale)

Jake: Left of the Dial - Notch Brewing (Salem, MA) (4.3% Session IPA)

Beer #5: Predictable Patterns - Aslin Beer Company 8.3% (Herndon, VA) Shout out to Sean P of Untappd fame for the pick up! Heavy DIPA that drinks a lot easier than its alcohol content would suggest.

This coming week we’ll have more releases and we’re gonna try to get a few guests lined up for the coming weeks!

Beer #1 : Skin Froot (4.5%) - Hoof Hearted Brewing (Marengo, OH) Special thanks to Zach from Dancing Gnome (Sharpsburg, PA) Sour IPA with Fruit.

Congrats to Hitchhiker Brew Plant (Sharpsburg, PA) for opening their patio!

Alex went to Leaning Cask (Springdale, PA) for Christmas in July! Custard and Beer? Sign yourself right up!

The Coop Pittsburgh provided dinner for Sara and Nick this Sunday evening at Grist House (Millvale, PA).

Beer #2 : Baja 1000 (7.9%) - Couch Brewing. Not hazy, looks like Bud Light. Tastes like champagne but would’ve been better if it was colder.

Jake takes his turn at the Bottom Teeth Challenge.

The Cooler Stool is the best idea to ever happen.

Nick had the Spirit Beast(2016) - Jackie O’s Brewery (Athens, OH)

Couch Brewing is having a Christmas in July BINGO event on 7/25! (7:30-9:30)

Jake went to Slumbrew (Somerville, MA) then Bantam Cider (Somerville, MA). His favorite was the Hibiscus Mint Cider.

Alex really likes Threadbare Ciders (Pittsburgh, PA)

Jake followed up Bantam with Remnant Brewing (Somerville, MA)

Trampoline time!

Aeronaut Brewing (Somerville, MA) was the highlight of the day from Jake because of the beers and the jazz music.

Alex and Jake are twins and it became a saving grace for their drunken Boston excursion.

Beer #3 : Tangerine Haze (7%) - Stillwater Artisanal Ales (Baltimore, MD) Double Dry-Hopped Sour Ale. No one was expecting a sour so we were all pleasantly surprised. Alex really liked it and Nick and Sara have an existential crisis about liking sours.

Beer #4 : Ritual Colors (8%) - Foreign Objects (Clifton Park, NY) DIPA brewed with Mosaic and Vic Secret. Lots of citrus taste, but still tastes more like a standard Double IPA and not a NE Style IPA. Beefy is the great descriptor.

We discuss “Stan Twitter” and Eminem’s unending influence.

Jake’s Segment! “Don’t be that guy, V2.0” - It gets heated about the shitty people we see at releases.

Beer #5 : Wavvy (8%) - Stillwater Artisanal Ales Double IPA - Batch #007 (Citra/Mosaic/Amarillo) Rotationally Hopped series. Possibly the best beer of the night, refreshing and light for 8%.

Caution: We got loud toward the end and there’s a lot of yelling at each other.

Beer #2: Llucid Llama - Grist House (Millvale PA) Better than Manatee, lots of hop flavor, a little more bitter but still a great hazy DIPA.

Beer #2: Sugar-Coated Pony Kisses - Stable 12 Brewing (Pheonixville, PA) Smooth drinking, 5.8% IPA with lactose sugar Falconers Flight, Mosaic and Mandarina Bavaria hops. Very citrusy nose, smooth, sweet and crisp.

We talk architecture and the industrial feel in bigger breweries. Jake wants to branch out to smaller, less known breweries, stay tuned!

Beer #1 - Mercury Rising IPA - Foreign Objects (Bronx, NY) 6.8% - heavy Citrus notes, sweet and crisp, no bite.

New to Pittsburgh! Purchased at Hal’s Bottle Shop - Rare release of The Color of Pomegranate (collab with Crime and Punishment brewery). Prepare to hear us say the word “pith”

Hercules makes an appearance, booping microphones.

Jake went to Jack’s Abby again! (Jack’s Abby/Springfield Brewery, Cambridge, MA)

Lamplighter Brewing - Cans readily available.

Cambridge Brewery (Cambridge, MA)

Hitchhiker Brewing (Sharpsburg/Mt. Lebanon, PA) released RGB triple IPA this week sparking the Triple/Imperial debate, again.

Jake checked out a place called Cheeky Monkey Brewery and Cidery. Jake was pretty happy with the beer there.

Jake tells us about his all day bender, mimosa flight included.

Alex has a wild night with a watermelon.

Beer #2 - Venus Rising - Foreign Objects (Bronx, NY) 6.8% - Citra and Calypso hops make for a bitier finish, not as good as Mercury everyone agreed. But we do endorse Foreign Objects for sure.

Sara recalls the amazing food at Hoof Hearted, dreaming up breakfast burritos.

Keg Kicker IPA - Mad Mex (Pittsburgh, PA) Nick and Sara describe a messed up cheap beer experience.

Alex, Sara and Nick are going to start brewing!

Merch was discussed. Keep an eye out. This also leads into a very heated discussion about Ball Point pens.

Sara and Nick went to get Exquisite Beast at Dancing Gnome (Sharpsburg, PA) - Case Limit - Cans for everyone! Glassware available!
