Cam is back to continue her story time with Mika and Pau on her experiences living, working, and studying in Japan, leaving this episode of the Weekly Stan Up with tidbits of inspiration, advice, and motivation for anyone who wants to take the leap outside their comfort zone (and specifically head to Japan)! Apart from sharing all her favorite (and not so favorite) things about Japanese culture, she also goes into her growing interest in Kpop, her thoughts on the industry, and shares her favorite groups with us.

It's our 50th Episode on the Weekly Stan Up! Thank you to everyone who has been tuned in to our conversations about Asian pop culture. This week, Mika's friend Cam comes on our show to share her journey going from an exchange student in Osaka, to returning for an (intense) internship in Hiroshima after graduating, and then back again to Japan to take up her post-grad studies and now working there full-time.
More importantly, she talks about how living in Japan broke and exceeded her expectations from her longtime interest in Japanese culture. A must-listen for anyone looking to live in Japan and who wants to know what it's really like!
Because we lost track of time talking with Cam about her stories in Japan, we've decided to have part 2 come out next week! Stay tuned for more stories and our vibe check with her!

The Weekly Stan Up is back with friends! Mika introduces her friend / unni / achi Conch who shares a lot in common with Mika -- a massive fan of Western rock / poprock (we talk a lot about The Maine in this episode) who recently fell into the Kpop rabbit hole, and fell hard, especially for Stray Kids. Conch shares her adventures collecting albums, how her love for Western bands and Kpop collided, and how her background in music (classical piano) has played a role in her appreciation for Kpop. She also does a mini-vibe check with us on Keshi!
Conch also co-hosts the "Four Piece & a Pod (Youtube)" podcast alongside fellow alumni from the University of the Philippines College of Music where they talk about life after music school and a bunch of other fun topics. It's also on Spotify!
And she has covers too -- check out her Instagram!

Mika's back in this week's The Weekly Stan Up with another Vibe Check! This time she and Pau react to Mika's handpicked songs from GOT7 members' Yugyeom and Bambam's co-promoted solo albums, Point of View: U and Ribbon, respectively -- which makes for an interesting playlist, considering the two different styles of their albums. But Mika's curation shows that perhaps there might be more in common than meets the ear for these two 97-ers, friends, and artists.

This weekend on the Weekly Stan Up we introduce a new series on our show, Mika's Vibe Check, where Mika curates a mini-playlist of three-four songs that vibe together and plays it on the show with Pau for some fun commentary and reactions. On the first Mika's Vibe Check, Mika brings together songs from the "Indonesia Line" of 88rising (NIKI, Rich Brian, and Warren Hue), whom we often talk about on the show and even did an entire episode on.

This week on The Weekly Stan Up, Pau and Mika try another "schooling" session. On the agenda: one of Pau's favorite streamers -- Singaporean Twitch variety streamer supercatkei! As with every "schooling" session, Pau shares some of supercatkei's Youtube videos (from her music to her funny stream compilations) and a snippet of that one time she streamed on Youtube, along the way also talking about how he ended up being a fan of the stream and some of the fun and crazy things that he witnessed happen her stream in the few months he's been a follower! Also, Pau tries to low-key convert Mika into becoming a streamer herself?
If you like chill, calming music / Valo, Tetris, and other fun games / IRL in Singapore all in one stream, and more importantly, a kind, wholesome and caring community to be a part of, supercatkei usually streams on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at night (Singapore time). She's also on Instagram and TikTok too!
