I am probably worse at it then anyone so I knew it was a good subject to talk about! That great business opportunity or that lucky bid on an amazing job is great in the moment.

That moment eventually passes though and something else has to replace it, you have to keep your pipeline full so to speak with new work and jobs.

The saying usually goes that with great sacrifice comes great reward. Today I wanted to talk about the reality that most don’t spend time going into.

The other side to the coin that you already hear all the time is just because you sacrifice doesn’t mean you are entitled to success. There are a number of reasons why a person might fail but sacrifice is only a small portion of why someone will succeed.

There is no one pushing you or driving you to work longer, harder or faster. You, being the owner of your business, are the only one who decides how hard you work.

Hustle is talked about all the time but the point gets missed by most people. It’s not about working harder, it’s about working smarter. Listen to yourself as you grow your business, you’ll know what to do!

If you don’t take the time and effort to maintain what you now own and have now then what makes you think you will be better at it when you get something newer or nicer?

This is a lesson my dad taught me and it has served me pretty well for a long while

Sometimes I feel there is too much focus put in the offense of business(income) and not enough talked about for the defense of business(spending).

There is more than one way to success and definitely a personal experience. No one else can tell you what success is for you personally!

If you are not constantly educating yourself on new concepts and ideas for your small business you will stagnate. You want to be able to scale and constantly grow both personally and in your business.

Outside ideas and perceptions will help you break through barriers faster than trying to learn through the school of hard knocks!

No matter what your going through I wanted to take some time to encourage you and let you know that you’re on the right path. Keep moving forward, friction is a good sign!

Don’t be like me and get caught up in chasing after the next best thing every couple months when things get “boring” and aren’t paying out what you hoped they would have. I’ve made that mistake more than once and I honestly believe I could have been a lot further along if I would have stuck with one thing!

I have found that there is a line of thinking that by starting a business people think they can run from a current situation or to prove someone wrong. This is a bit on the mental side of things but very much worth talking about. Never use business to run from something because you will never find satisfaction in it like you hope you would...
