I struggle with this the most currently in my business. The work when I have it is the easy part. It the time I have to spend on things that don't pay that gets me.

I either need to keep my skills as a welder brushed up and on point OR I need to be networking and making connects to get more work in the door. One keeps the work you get and the other brings in new work.

I can't really say which is more important at this time so I'm focused on getting better at juggling both!
I know that most people want to be a welder right away and make the big money but I want to talk a little bit about the benefits of working as a welders helper first for a few years.

There are things you will learn and advice you will get from working along someone who has years of experience vs going straight to a weld school and having to struggle on your own when you get out.
Wanted to motivate you all today about how business and really how life works out most the the time.

The story was packed full of pointers I wanted to talk about and warn you from making the same mistakes coming at it from a customer point of view!
I'm currently noticing that the biggest hurdle I am now having to face is how to stand out in what seems to be a sea of mobile welders in my area.
It may seem harsh but without clear and defined guidelines to operate by in any relationship, things can get very heated. When misunderstanding and assumption is mixed into a business transaction things can become a headache to deal with that could have been avoided in the first place.
New thought on how you should be looking at every person you interact with when you own a business!
I did not see or realize the intricacies of marketing and which parts of marketing leads to work and jobs in the short term vs the long term. I talk about what I now understand about it here!
There are times you will feel like giving it all up and like you are not getting the results you hoped for. When that time comes you need someone to help pull you through that uncomfortable time. To help keep pushing you so you can stay in the game long enough to find the success you hope for!
The thing that might be limiting your incoming work or sales might be that you aren’t charging enough! You ever think that would be a problem?
