In the second part of our study of 1 Thessalonians (July 2021), we're diving in to chapter 4 and will discuss Holiness and Sanctification.

Holiness/Sanctification is a two-part process. At the outset, it is our commitment (sanctification) to God--we set ourselves apart for God. But sanctification is not only about what we do, but what God does. God takes our commitment, and begins the work of transformation in our lives.

Will you give God your all? If you will, God will give us His all.

Today is a day we call "New Life Sunday," during which we celebrate baptism and baby dedications as well as introduce new church members. We'll also be featuring an "All-In" Update as we prepare to wrap up the 3-year campaign that enabled significant changes and updates to our building and grounds. 

Why are these things important? Because PEOPLE are the priority of the Kingdom.

God valued the people of Thessalonica, and was the source of their transformation. Prayer reflects our dependence on God and our belief that He values other people. When we pray, we're acknowledging that God hears our prayers, He cares, and He moves.

Family takes commitment. And the church is meant to be like a family--a complex balance of love, humility, and care. People are the priority of the kingdom! A church built on this principle--the church as a family--has a lasting impact.

Death is the ultimate unknown, but God invites us to face death with hope, not fear. On Memorial Day Sunday, we will remember those we have lost, and rejoice in the God who gives us hope and comfort.

We have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit, which gives us hope for future glory, but what does it look like to live in the right now?

Our graduates have succeeded--they've made it through high school. But there's still work to be done.
