The Well: Sermon Video

On his deathbed, Joseph’s father Jacob, reveals that he has grown into a man who trusts the promises of God even when they don’t seem real because he trusts the character of God. In response to the faithfulness of God, Jacob gives Joseph a double portion of inheritance through his two sons Ephraim and Manasseh. Speaker: Mike Cirricione

Joseph's faithfulness and hard work set him apart no matter what occupation he had in Egypt. What does it look like for us to be set apart in an unholy world?  Speaker: Brad Bell

In November of 2018, Cultivate began as our church body prayerfully committed to 3 goals in 3 years. This weekend, we gather at the Clovis Campus to celebrate the completion of those 3 goals. Speaker: The Well

The family reconciliation continues as Joseph and his father Jacob are reunited after 22 years of separation. We, too, await a great reunion with an even greater Heavenly Father, in the meantime, having to trust in God's promises through the assurance of Jesus Christ.  Speaker: Mike Slayden

Joseph's reconciliation with his brothers is a snapshot of an even better Jesus, who pursues us to reconcile us to himself not because we deserve it but because his heart is moved in love.  Speaker: Brad Bell

The upper story and lower stories collide when Joseph's brothers return to Egypt. We see shadows of what confession and repentance can look like when Judah takes ownership of his past for the first time. The invitation gleaned from this text is to confess and repent, that you might find wholeness with God and freedom from sin through Christ.    Speaker: Brad Bell

Meanwhile back in Canaan, Joseph's brothers relay what happened in Egypt to their father, Jacob. This brings Jacob to confront his closed-handedness with God and ultimately brings him to a process of reconciliation.  Speaker: Brad Bell

When the famine brings Joseph face to face with his brothers, the fruit of his desolation is revealed. Instead of choosing the easy path of vengeance or retaliation, Joseph is prepared to forgive.  Speaker: Brad Bell

After waiting through years of desolation, Joseph is exalted into one of the most powerful positions in Egypt. In our waiting, the Lord is working in us so that He may then work through us.  Speaker: Brad Bell

God is with us, even in times of desolation. Through desolation, God is at work in us in a way that consolation never could provide. Speaker: Brad Bell
