For our final episode this season, Gemma is honoured to be joined by Dr Rangan Chatterjee: a medical doctor, best-selling author, TV presenter and host of the top-ranking health podcast Feel Better, Live More. As one of the most influential doctors in the UK, Dr Rangan Chatterjee wants to change how medicine will be practised for years to come, with a mission to help people around the globe live better lives. During his 20 years as a GP, Rangan has seen first-hand how good intentions aren’t always enough for us to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and the fundamental importance happiness plays in our overall health and wellbeing.
With his latest book Happy Mind, Happy Life already a best-seller, Rangan talks us through his ‘core happiness’ concept and how it works like a three-legged stool where all three parts need to be in place for us to feel happy. He explains the difference between junk happiness and authentic happiness, shares his morning routine, and offers his tips for how to get through the demands of modern life, as well as what wellness means to him. Packed with wisdom as well as a great chat, this episode is an absolute must-listen for anyone interested in living a healthier, happier and more authentic life.

Madeleine Olivia is a sustainable living blogger, YouTuber and author, who champions low-impact and minimal living. Based in Cornwall, she shares her plant-based recipe creations and sustainable living tips with her audience, and has written a book, Minimal, about how to love yourself and the planet.
If you’ve been tempted by the idea of minimal living but thought it was unachievable, this episode is for you. Madeleine talks about a slow, kindness-based approach to sustainability – a refreshing take on a topic that can at times feel inflexible. She and Gemma explore how conscious decision-making benefits our wellbeing; letting go of perfection and how this can make way for self-discovery; and how being kind to ourselves, our bodies and the planet are one and the same. Plus Madeleine shares her wellness ethos, realistic advice on sustainable living, and practical plant-based recipe tips – including the secret to cooking great tofu.
Please be aware that the conversation does also briefly cover Madeleine’s recovery from an eating disorder. If you need more support on this topic, you can access information and resources at https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk/.

When it comes to sports legends, they don’t get much bigger than Jonny Wilkinson. He’s one of the most decorated rugby players and famously represented England in the 2003 World Cup Final, when his drop goal clinched victory for the nation in the last 30 seconds. However, in recent years he’s branched out: today he is a mental health advocate and motivational speaker. He hosts his own podcast, I Am, which features thought leaders and pioneers talking honestly about their challenges and inspirations. And he’s passionate about healthy eating, with his own range of fermented food products, No.1 Living, on sale at Holland & Barrett.
In this deep and spiritual chat, Jonny and Gemma discuss the importance of living in the now, and how it feels to reach your goals, only to have the experience not live up to your expectations. Jonny talks about how health isn’t a goal you can ever achieve, but a work in progress. He recalls how his passion for gut health started and what it means now, and how it’s part of his overall journey in terms of how his perception and appreciation of his body has changed since being a sportsman. This is a really rich conversation with so much for everybody to take from it, as well as Jonny’s practical tips for wellbeing.

With her debut book ‘Ugly’ out in February 2023, Anita talks to Gemma about how beauty standards have evolved over the ages, and how they impact our lives and define our identity. Their insightful chat covers not fitting in as a child in the 1980s, colourism, colonialism, living with ADHD, and the landmark moment of seeing an Asian person as a main character and love interest in Bridgerton season 2. Kat Farmer, AKA @doesmybumlook40, is loved on social media for her honest but upbeat posts, whether that’s laughing at herself in an unflattering outfit in a high street changing room, or getting raw and emotional sharing the challenges of parenting a teenager with autism. Now, with her new book Get Changed: Finding The New You Through Fashion already a Sunday Times bestseller, she talks to Gemma about how what we wear is linked with our sense of personal identity and how so many of us lose track of who we are - especially as we get older and find our time and energy taken up with work and family. She shares some practical tips about finding your fashion tribe, talks about her own experiences of menopause and getting older (and why you should wear what you want at any age) and her guilt at not realising her daughter was coeliac. This is a hugely positive listen for anyone who wears clothes. Ultimately, Kat’s message is that at the end of the day, we all deserve to like the person we see looking back at us in the mirror - and she wants to help get us there.
