In this episode we are discussing how your past does not define you and how forgiving yourself allows you to become new. I chose to get real, raw, and authentic with you guys this week.

Everyone has a past and there’s always someone who has been in your shoes before. You’re not alone.

God makes you new when you give your life to Christ. This can be a journey but just like life, it allows us to grow in unimaginable ways. If you can truly step into who God says you are, it allows you to actually heal.

You are so valuable love! God shares with us in Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God has forgiven you.” If God can forgive us, why can’t we forgive ourselves?

It does not matter what you’ve been through, what you’ve done, etc. you can be made new.

This week we are discussing gratitude and how gratitude can attract more positivity into your life. Expressing gratitude actually makes you feel better so when you practice this it naturally makes you feel more positive rather than focusing on the negative of everything.

How can you turn a “bad” situation into a “good” situation? GRATITUDE!

Life is always going to life, so how are you choosing to go through life? If you want to experience a positive, joyful life, you need to be grateful for the things you do have going well.

Expressing gratitude literally has the ability to change your brain, possibly resulting in less anxiety and depression.

There are so many people that I am grateful for. I truly believe that everyone that has walked into my life has walked into my life for a reason. I share a glimpse of how grateful I am for the people who have impacted me in one way or another. It would truly take all day if I shared the love and gratitude I have for everyone in my life.

Gratitude paves the way for each and every one of our pillars and it really is the building block!

In this episode we have the amazing opportunity to interview Keturah Warlick. She is a Nutrition Education Coordinator specializing in plant-based nutrition and juicing. She graduated with her Bachelors in Dietetics & Nutrition and she has been working in this field for over 5 years. Along with that she’s had the pleasure of starting my own business called Havilah, a health and wellness juice brand that solves the urgent problem of making health convenient. She is passionate about helping people heal through nutrition and juicing, and believes that everyone deserves healthy living to be convenient.

Starting as Just Juice, Keturah knew that there was more that she wanted to bring to the world so she rebranded and developed Havilah. Although entrepreneurship has always had a special place in heart, the pandemic really amplified that desire.

Keturah explains that juicing is a great way to detoxify the body quickly because the juice goes right to the bloodstream which allows everything to be flushed out. This happens quicker than just eating fruits and vegetables because your body does not have to exert as much energy to break down your food.

Her recommendation for juice cleanses are once a month for three days or every three months for twelve days to detoxify your body.

When it comes to entrepreneurship or entrepreneurhood as we like to call it, the biggest challenges she faced are the ones she’s had to work on within herself. There was a lot of personal growth she had to go through and discover what she did not know!

Keturah shared with us some of her challenges but she also shared the rewards of being an entrepreneur! She says the greatest reward is the self-reflection she’s taken within herself; seeing the growth in herself and then the growth within her business that stems from personal growth!
I asked Keturah if there was anything else that she wanted to share and she lovingly told us to have grace and be patient with ourselves.

This week we are discussing the importance of budgeting, saving, managing expenses, tithing and giving. Do you know how much money you are spending each month? When are your bills coming out? How much do you have left at the end of the month?

What are your fluctuating bills vs your fixed bills so that you have a good idea of what is coming out each month? Being intentional about the money that you are spending each month can help to put you in a better position to save for the things you really want.

Ask yourself questions like how much do you want to save each month? How much do you want to invest? How much do you want to give this month?

When saving, it is super important to have a plan! Make sure you’re putting this away first so you’re ensuring that you accomplish all of the saving goals you have.

For all my friends who still live at home, I would save at least 50% of your paycheck every single month so you can save as much as possible while not having as many bills yet.

When it comes to giving and tithing, how much are you willing to give and most importantly give back to the Lord. God has given us everything that we have so we must give it back in return for what he’s done for us.

You cannot put money above God. What are you putting first? Seek him first and everything else will be given to you.

He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last—dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip.“The servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned five more. The servant with two bags of silver also went to work and earned two more. But the servant who received the one bag of silver dug a hole in the ground and hid the master’s money. After a long time their master returned from his trip and called them to give an account of how they had used his money. The servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of silver came forward with five more and said, ‘Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I have earned five more. “The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!”

It is really important for us to understand because if God is willing to trust you with a little and you handle/manage it well, he will then trust you with more, hence the meaning behind this parable.

This week we are discussing the benefits journaling has not only on your mental and emotional health but your overall well-being!

Journaling helps you to remember the times we may forget about. It allows you to manifest anything and everything in your life. It reminds you of how far you’ve come. There are so many benefits to journaling and it’s something as simple as putting pen to paper.

I journal about everything! What I am going through, what I want, who I want to be, what I am feeling, affirmations, what I want to attract, etc.

I share how journaling has actually gotten me through some tough conversations that allow me to express my feelings in a better way than verbally communicating.

I highly recommend incorporating this into your lifestyle. If you end up not liking it, try something different. But you never know unless you try!

The most important thing to take from this is being able to take something from each episode and try it so you can start stacking habits on top of each other to create that optimal wealth we’re looking for!

In this episode we get to hear from a very special guest, Leah Brueggemann. Leah Brueggemann is a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition practitioner, specializing in hormonal balance for women. She helps women balance their hormones naturally with nutrition, lifestyle and finally getting to the root issue. She has helped 400 women get painless periods, stabilize their moods, lose weight and finally feel like themselves again. Leah has a passion for helping women connect to their cycle, which is their super power.

She explains to us how she thought period pain was just “the norm.” When she got diagnosed with fibroadenoma instead of having surgery she wanted to explore more and see why this was actually happening.

Leah is very passionate about seed cycling and helping women with their periods through this easy process. In this episode she gives us a deep dive into exactly how to seed cycle in alignment with your menstrual cycle. On the first day of your cycle until ovulation, you will take pumpkin and flax seeds.

Better egg quality = better less painful cycle!

Ovulation to period you are going to consume sesame and sunflower seeds. Consistency for at least 3 cycles in order to see a difference is going to be crucial during this process.We discuss what it means to balance your blood sugar and what your plate should look like at every meal to get that balance! When trying to balance your hormones, this is key to that balancing factor.

Leah hits on an important note that whoever you decide to work with, make sure that they align with you and your goals for your life. It is important to know that the person who is leading you aligns with who you are so that there can be synergy in the results.

This week we are discussing what it means to walk your life with faith, rather than sight. But first, I wanted to edify the importance of knowing that you are not walking this life alone. If you’re listening or reading this today, you need to know that you are not alone. There are many other people that have gone through what you’re going through. God wants you to know that you are not alone, if you need someone to talk to, reach out!

What it means to have faith is trusting in the unseen. I pray everyday “God, put me in the right place, at the right time, with the right people.” This is not an easy task to just trust and have faith but it’s a part of the journey. You may experience “failures” but you win when you don’t look at them as bad; rather you look at them like a stepping stone!

In Matthew 17:20, Jesus tells us to have faith the size of a mustard seed. If you do not know what this looks like, it’s very tiny!

When I opened my business I was a 21 year old college student finishing my last semester of school. I wasn’t going for a business major!!! Did I know much about business? Not really! Did I know why God was pulling me in this direction? Not really!

God knew there was more inside of me that needed to come out! I had no idea how I was going to make this work but I had faith that God was calling me in that direction.

I share the biggest testimony of my life! Are you willing to have faith, trust God and trust yourself?

In this episode we get to hear from a special guest, Nikolas Quest. He isn’t our typical guest but his compelling story deserved to be heard by everyone who comes in contact with this episode!

After being diagnosed with a rare disease that caused him to become visually impaired, it really impacted his mental health, which ultimately resulted in his physical, emotional, and spiritual health going down the drain as well.

Antidepressants increase a hormone in your body called Ghrelin, which is the hunger hormone. Due to this, he just continued to eat and eat which resulted in him gaining 200+ lbs in 16 months. He graduated high school at 400 lbs and his highest weight was 426 lbs.

The turning point was the day that he looked in the mirror at 20 years old with acne and boils on his legs thinking he can’t live his life like this anymore. He was on antidepressants and antipsychotics because of his depression and the lack of wanting to accept his disability. He shares how instead of having someone to talk to, which is all he wanted, they loaded him up on medications which only made the problem worse.

He made the executive decision to detox himself off of all the medication. For 3 weeks he experienced the shakes and cold sweats but he did not regret it! Just by getting off of the medication, he lost 60lbs!!!!!!!

This is something that he wanted to create longevity in to not just lose the weight but to create a healthy lifestyle that he could implement for the rest of his life. We discussed what it means to eat healthy and how some things that are marketed to us may seem healthy but there are a bunch of ingredients we can’t read in them. This goes to show truly how important it is to read the ingredients on the label because it is important to know what you are putting into your body!

Bible verse highlighted: Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me.” When we don’t have the motivation, the discipline, or the strength to keep going, we can get that strength from Christ! God will uplift you when you do not want to keep going.

This week we are discussing what it means to have time management and the benefits that come with having time management!

I reference the 4 boxes of productivity from the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: urgent and important, not urgent and important, not important and urgent, not urgent and not important. Throughout this episode I discuss the importance of each box and being able to manage your time in all of them.

I list an array of benefits that you get within your life because of time management. These benefits not only benefit you in the short term but in the long-term as well. I vulnerably mention the lack of time management skills that I had when I first opened my business and somehow I also ended up in that urgent and important category because I would procrastinate and do other things.

Together, we discuss some tactical ways that we can increase our time management so we can reap all of the benefits that come with having great time management.

PLAN PLAN PLAN! If you are not planning, you are planning to fail. Not that failing is a bad thing, we fail our way to success but you wont get to success without having a plan. I love planning out my week before it even starts. It allows me to walk into the week with clarity! Really ask yourself, how are you managing your time and how can you be better? We can all be better so focus on one area and make that a priority.

Who typically pushes their hardest things to do to the bottom of the list? I’ve fallen victim and it's okay to admit you have to. But today we discuss how that hard thing that you’re not doing is actually prolonging the pain and keeping you from growing into who you are meant to be.

Bible verse highlighted: James 1:5-6 “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone.” This is telling us that if we need wisdom in a certain situation or just life in general, ask God and it will be given to you but you must have the faith and believe that God will grant you the wisdom.
