  • Don't Fight The Tragedy with Trish Thomas

Meet Trish. She's a single mom to a precious little girl, Layla. Two years ago Layla's life was spared in a serious car accident. Through this scary season both Trish and Layla had the opportunity to taste and see the Lord's goodness. In this episode Trish shares all about this season, how they suffered and where they found their hope.

    ---------------------------------

P.S. As the holiday season is quickly approaching, I'd love for this amazing community to choose one cancer patient to champion during this season. Would you pray about who you can show tangible love to and send them a gift to remind them that they are not forgotten? If you're struggling to decide on a gift or have no idea where to start, here is a list of gifts that were most helpful to me during my battle with cancer: https://www.alichristian.com/giftsforawarrior.

When you send your patient a gift, I'd love for you to send me a message and let me know who you sent a gift to (first name only) and what you sent. It would be such a blessing for me to hear about this community spreading God's love during this holiday season & to be able to give you a shoutout on the podcast.

  • Colette The Victorious with Kate Piazza

Today Kate Piazza, wife, mom, ER nurse & author shares the story of her daughter Colette who battled childhood cancer. To hear of Kate's deep, unwavering trust in God and the Lord's kindness to them throughout Colette's battle brought me to tears many times throughout this interview. After Kate and I recorded this episode she sent me an email, writing some of the most encouraging words I've ever heard (and I'm sharing with her permission).

She writes... "From someone who had to face the thing I dreaded most in the world, I am telling you straight: God's grace was always enough. Everything I dreaded did become a reality for me but had I known that God's grace would have sustained me like it did I would not have feared so much. God's grace made the unbearable bearable. I think of Psalm 23:5..."He set a table for me in the presence of my enemies." He provided for me emotionally, physically, spiritually right there in the dark places. Don't give in to the temptation to live a life of dread. Wherever you go in life, God's grace will be a step ahead--setting up a table for you in the presence of your enemies. You're safe. So safe..."

Hearing these words from a mother who lost her only baby girl is evidence to me that there must be a loving and living God. Listen in and hear Kate's story about Colette and our almighty, sustaining & gracious God.

-Need a way to encourage a friend or family member walking through a hard time? Here are two tees that I personally put on during challenging times to literally clothe myself in God's truth:

    • The Victory Tee
    • You Have & You Will Tee
    • If God has put someone on your heart to encourage, this is the perfect way to tangibly remind them of His love and truth (and help them look really cute, even if they don’t feel it on the inside right now).

I hate to admit it but when I was first diagnosed, I was given a lot of gifts that I didn’t have any use for. I know from personal experience that it is physically painful to watch your children suffer. We have done a lot of suffering as a family, but we've also reaped rich blessings as a result.

In the latest episode of The Whether Channel I’m sharing about the battles I’ve watched my girls walk through as a result of my cancer diagnosis, but also the blessings we have experienced through the suffering. I pray this is encouraging to the mommas whose hearts are breaking as they watch their children process any type of pain and trauma.

          • For My Friends Who Are Scared

This first episode of season 3 is specifically for people who are deeply suffering and their right hand (wo)men. I pray this episode encourages my friends who have just received the worst news of their lives or are walking hand in hand with someone who has. The sole purpose of this episode is to offer hope, something my heart desperately needed when I was walking through the darkest season of my life.

I'm sharing stories, encouragement and excerpts straight from the journal I kept during my two year battle with cancer. At the end there is specific prayer for anyone who is deeply suffering right now. If you are terrified about how this battle you're fighting is going to end and your soul needs a healing balm, come join us for this conversation.
