Chattanooga Whiskey 1816 Single Barrel:
Tasting Notes: As we began with the 1816 Single Barrel, there was an interesting mix of caramel, licorice, and bubblegum on the nose. The palate started with a youthful character, transitioning to a surprising licorice flavor, followed by a subtle burn, reminiscent of some older Weller bourbons.
Overall Impression: The 1816 Single Barrel was a good start, and we appreciated its unique flavors, especially the licorice notes. While it had a youthful aspect, it showed promise as an exciting start to our journey.
Chattanooga Whiskey 1816 Cask Strength:
Tasting Notes: With the cask strength small batch, we experienced a delightful blend of butterscotch pudding, dried apricot, honey, and pancake on the nose. The sweetness and complexity on the palate were remarkable. The burn was minimal, making this a dessert whiskey.
Overall Impression: This expression surprised us with its delightful sweetness, and we enjoyed the dessert-like qualities. The balance between flavors and proof made it a standout in the lineup.
Chattanooga Whiskey 91 Proof (Tennessee High Malt):
Tasting Notes: The Tennessee High Malt presented a unique nose, featuring powdered sugar, honey, and barley. This expression was exceptionally smooth and sweet, with a distinct frosting-like flavor that felt nostalgic. It left a pleasant aftertaste, and the malt was prominent.
Overall Impression: The 91 Proof displayed a delightful sweetness, and its malt-forward approach was a welcome surprise. The balance of flavors and the smoothness made it a perfect choice for savoring after a hearty meal.
Chattanooga Whiskey 10th Anniversary Blend:
