I forgot to mention the condition of the Singing Pass yesterday! The Log before Caution corner has been removed and although the top section was cruisey, below the Peak to Peak onwards was an icy gauntlet. Snow plow compulsary where you couldn't scrub off speed in narrow sections.

Stay safe on the hill and the roads. The Roads will be slick again. And despite a 'considerable' avalanche danger in the backcountry, make conservative terrain choices - in bounds too, where Tree Wells are very dangerous right now.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

2021 is kicking off with a low pressure system dumping upwards of 50cm of snow over the next 48 hours, with high alpine winds expected throughout the next few days and a freezing level hovering at 1600m or just below, until dropping to the valley on Sunday morning!

Today's run-down is a little longer than usual - whoops!

Here's wishing you all a merry but socially distanced NYE! I plan on popping a bottle of great Chanmpagne to celebrate 2020's triumphs, challenges and closures and to herald in the longer days and new opportunities 2021 will bring.

There's snow on the way this evening and a storm advisory in effect for the Sea to Sky: for tomorrow with rapid accumulations of moisture laden snow anticipated in the valley and on the roads!
