  • Self Help...Or Cult? Know Before you go.

The Wicked Ones Hosts, Tara & Jen dive into the world of self help & discover that sometimes there’s a fine line between following a group that will benefit your life and waking up one day to discover that you might be in a cult.

Unfortunately, many highly intelligent, hard working, people with an entrepreneurial spirit and motivated drive in life to continuously better themselves, sometimes find that the leaders in the self help industry aren’t always what they seem.

In this story…we are high-lighting a fallen self-help guru and those who put their faith in a man that, sadly, didn’t seem to have their best interest at heart. That individual is James Arthur Ray…and this is the story of the “Spiritual Warrior” retreat he lead in Sedona, AZ that had a very tragic ending when 3 people lost their lives in his makeshift sweat lodge.

  • The Dark Side of Bikram Yoga

The Wicked Ones Podcast hosts Jen & Tara discuss a side of Bikram Yoga that most may not know about…and it’s not pretty. The practice of Bikram yoga itself may have genuinely changed lives and here in the U.S. it certainly became an intense study among many in the fitness realm…almost cult-like in it’s practices. So who was this guy that traveled from India to L.A. & introduced to the world this very strict, regimented, incredibly HOT…both socially & literally form of yoga? Well…he’s a douche. We said it…you read that right…and we mean it.

We may not be talking murder this week, but the things this disgusting predator was able to get away with, being in this immense position of power will haunt you just the same. The women he violated and took advantage of…their stories deserve to be heard. They were here before #metoo & it is our hope that this episode will bring awareness to others that may not have the courage to speak out against those in power. All of these stories deserve to be heard and these bastards that think they are above reproach need get what’s coming to them.

On a lighter note…A very young #jasonbateman & #justinebateman attended #bikramyoga classes with their father...and his thoughts are hilariously noteworthy as usual!! Find out how Jason Bateman REALLY feels about Bikram Yoga in his interview with Letterman. You won’t regret it, we promise!

  • A History Lesson with Jen

The Wicked Ones podcast hosts, Jen & Tara dive into the Italian Hall disaster where many lives were senselessly & tragically lost on Christmas Eve in 1913 at a gathering for the children of a mining community in Michigan’s copper country. Jen takes us back and shares with us what life & work conditions were like in these small communities created specifically for miner’s & their families. She focuses on the challenges they faced and the culmination of events that ultimately led to the loss of 73 lives that fateful December day that will never be forgotten in the city of Calumet.

This tragedy, a result of people standing up for their rights for fair treatment would not be the first, nor the last of its kind. Unfortunately, the fight for fair treatment and equality in society is a battle many are still fighting today.

We may never fully understand the tragic events that unfolded that December night in 1959, but many believe that the house itself is haunted. Strange happenings in and around the sprawling Spanish style home have occurred & although the home has changed owners a few times in the last 60 years…no-one has actually, for one reason or another, been able to live there.
