The Wild Wild Left

While you watched the man weeping, 21 more totally innocent children were killed by our President.

While you were angry, a funeral was held for the 120th unarmed person of color to be killed by the police, Ernest Duenez Jr.

While the "ban all the guns" people were fighting the "AK on every hip" people, no one was discussing the abysmal mental health care in the U.S. that allows insanity to go untreated.

While you were judging his mother, every 2 minutes a woman is raped in this country.

And while we were debating every last bit of the above to dust, because nothing strikes fear into the heart of America like white children being killed? Legislation is being passed to make the at risk, poor children, old people and the mentally ill who rely on Social Security and Medicare poorer.

Most of all, we really refuse to discuss the Class War, which is primarily racist that is being waged in this country to support the Rich who are waging flat-out war on the rest of the world in an all-out grab for what is left of its resources.

When Michigan, the very core of Union activity in the United States, gets swallowed by "Right to Work" legislation crammed through without committee or debate in a lame duck session?  Greed of the few is using labor as worthless human chattel.

When a Hero does his duty to uphold the Constitution and reports in whatever way he safely could, illegal and immoral activities and is tortured for it, as Bradley Manning has been, and the Nation's Press does not bother to report about it? Your rights in such truth telling are long gone.  You are no longer free.

When even Democrats vote for reducing food stamps and cutting Social Security, which does not add to the debt, in an economy already making people suffer badly?  You know life as we know it is over, and we are considered useless eaters no longer worthy of even sustenance.

When in light of this austerity we are sending warships to Syria, adding to our 7, 8, god knows how many arenas of war, in an epic spending spree on colonialism?  Human lives abroad are nothing to the pursuit of more power.

Our own Government has become the bane of her Citizens, and the World.  And like Kane, started from nothing, and in our greed lost everything, and killed the only happiness we could have had.....

Education is under fierce attack in Michigan, trying to follow the path of Privatizing everything for profit.

Palestine became recognized, kinda, sorta, its a start in a vote last night at the UN.

And now begins the Kabuki of the Fiscal Grift negotiation.

I know, I feel I'm preaching to the choir tired here. I know I am emotionally overloaded, how about you?

But bear with me one more week of election-speak.

We can talk about what comes next, as well.

So here we are, days away from the polls, the warning shots of Global Climate Change bringing catastrophic storms to the Eastern shores.  Staten Island languished ignored, while the moneyed Burroughs got the cameras.  

Politicians used every angle for personal gain, vying for the top spot on the polls, like dancers on the pole.... while ice melts on our poles.

I cannot tell you how much I wish I could skip this broadcast.  Its depressing as hell.

But?  It is my last chance to try and move people to do the right thing.  To vote for the community of life, respect ecological balance, social and economic justice and an end to war and a movement toward world peace...

The Great Lakes are the largest source of fresh water in the World.  Tonight, two women on the front lines protecting Michigan from the ecological disaster that is fracking join me to talk about the realities of the dangers at hand.

Our own Green Candidate Julia Williams returns to expand our discussion, bringing her long time friend and ally LuAnn Kozma to join us with her utter expertise in this area.

LuAnne founded Ban Michigan Fracking with Julia and Anna Kathryn Sluka.  She is also the Michigan Director of an organization called Defense of Place, which works to assure that parks remain protected in perpetuity and has been advocating for the protection of Michigan's public parks for nearly a decade.  She has been involved in the Benton Harbor case, where Emergency Managers have all but given away priceless pristine lakeshore park lands to build a Private Golf Course - trading it for polluted inland industrial sites.  

Along with Fracking, we will also be discussing why the MOST pressing matter or our time, climate change, remains taboo in the light of Political Discourse.  We will be discussing, too why as females, we are being emotionally manipulated to vote against our bigger interests.

The passage of the NDAA language allowing indefinite detention of any US citizen, without charge or trial, is possibly the most dangerous legislation ever passed to date.

Tangerine Bolen is one of the brave seven Plaintiffs filing in Hedges vs Obama lawsuit trying to preserve our Civil Liberties.  Tonight she joins Wild Wild Left Radio to talk to us about this suit.

She is founder and Executive Director of RevolutionTruth, an organization dedicated to restoring legitimate democracies in part through increasing access to accurate information. She has led campaigns in support of WikiLeaks and Bradley Manning; these actions making her a direct target of the Obama administration's ambiguous language:

Section 1021(b)(2) authorizes the military to detain any U.S. citizen who "substantially supported" al-Qaida, the Taliban or "associated forces" and then hold them in military compounds until "the end of hostilities."

Tangerine also hosts RevolutionTruth's panel series of discussions between activists in the West and Middle East which is geared toward sharing knowledge, challenging War-on-Terror-aggravated stereotypes, and building worldwide networks of support between those seeking decreased oppression, increased liberty and the creation of just and equitable systems.

As the Silly Season closes in, people buy the most transparent of lies, panic over the weakest comments and scare themselves into voting against their own interests.  Every f*cking time....  grrr.
