at times, it can be so tempting to chase title & recognition or to split hairs over differences, but what if what we really want is to know & be known? 

even with a few years between us, my good friend/mentor dapo & i have found a lot in common these past several months...mostly, a desire to step fully into the present tense, to take up responsibility in our midst & most importantly, to do so by coming together heart to heart & shoulder to shoulder. i look up to dapo like i do few people. this snippet of conversation to the hours & hours we've had will probably give you a good idea why.

welcome to the wildflowers podcast!

this intro episode serves to give you an idea of 1. who i am (hence the "identity" bit in the title) & 2. my goal in this series aka to have & record a conversation with a beautifully, uniquely gifted friend of mine...for this one, i locked myself in my studio, talked to myself about myself for 20ish minutes & here we are. i hope this episode feels like we are sitting down for coffee & getting to know each other as friends. that's how i imagined it, anyways.

hearts are the most important thing to me & seeing people be recognized, esp. ones who go so often without it, is my greatest hope with this endeavor.

please keep in mind, like myself & the people around me, this podcast is in process. right now, i hope to release a new conversation with a friend every time i get the opportunity-hopefully very often! 🖤
