The Will Clarke Podcast

A born entertainer with a burning desire to play music to people around the world, Sam Divine’s enigmatic sets are an effortless schooling in pure, unadulterated house.

From her early days as the sole member of the Defected street team in Ibiza to fronting their radio show and now headlining some of the world’s biggest clubs and festivals, The First Lady of Defected, has become an intrinsic part of the UK house music scene.

The seeds of Sam’s DJ career can be traced back to a pair of belt drive turntables and a battered Numark mixer set up in her Mum’s shed; a pirate radio show broadcast from her bedroom using ‘borrowed’ equipment from the local college and MSN Messenger, and time spent expanding her musical knowledge working at Spin Central in her hometown of Weston-super-Mare and Chemical Records in Bristol. Zevi G, born in 1984, is a prolific and steadfast artist who uses his studio to bring unanticipated creations to life. In a world where love, unity and kindness have become a scarce commodity Zevi is determined to make a change using his art and many compelling characters to spread a powerful message.

The artist was never intimidated by his underprivileged and very orthodox upbringing, on the contrary, that became the very essence of his strength and will, to turn his life around and reach others with positive and relevant messages.

Each figure comes with its own personality and features different traits such as the angel with its thin legs and wings, or the soldier with its buff chest. The childlike characters with eyes full of wonder appear as part of a world full of references and emotional memories from the artist’s 456 Land, bringing its message in a non-political vibe, a whisper, as opposed to a shout, but powerful, nonetheless.

Focused on the Future sound of electronic music Flashmob has used this long break to craft a brand new sound sky-rocking the world with his new record “Closer” already a summer hit via Toolroom.

With the mammoth breakthrough single “Need In Me” (Defected), Flashmob rocked the ever crowded electronic music stage and enjoyed that rare sense of worldwide dance floor love.

Not content to stay still, however, Flashmob’s sound, production, and go-for-broke DJ sets have changed with the game, embracing the vitality of new house music rather than hankering after the sentimental sunsets of the good old raves. Enjoy x
