Welcome back to this weeks episode of The Wine O’clock Show. This week on the couch we have MKR & Dancing with the Stars star Ash Pollard and Life Style and Business Coach, Genine Howard.
This week we talk about:
The Bank of Melbourne has come under fire for putting a notice on the front door of a branch, complaining that they had to close a section due to an “inconsiderate” homeless person.
The sign said, “Due to an inconsiderate person using the foyer as a place to live and litter, we are having to close this part of the branch…” What do you think of this?
Scandal, Drugs, Health and safety concerns and security issues is all that anyone is talking about in the lead up to the RIO Games. With attacks on our Australian Olympians, unsafe living conditions, Russians drugs scandals and now the toxic stew that invades their waters, we have to ask the question. Should the IOC have looked more deeply into RIO before allowing the games to be held in this country?
There has been so much violence hit our TV screens over the past few months which has left a lot of people expressing concern for our safety.
Last week we saw Sonia Kruger raked over the coals for expressing her concern for our country and our people. With the mass shooting in Orlando killing 54 people, being mowed down by trucks through the streets of Paris, embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya, the Boston Marathon bombings and the list goes on and on it begs the question – ISIS, are we being too soft?
Hey, Tam Wrigley here and thanks for watching this weeks episode and the season finale of The Wine O’Clock Show. We have had a great time with some awesome celebrity guests and we have left some of the best to last.
On the season finale of the show, we invited Larry Emdur from The Morning Show and Sophia Pou, My Kitchen Rules to talk about that awkward moment on TV this week between Rebecca Judd Loves and Tony Jones, we also talk about the 63 year old Tasmanian women who gave birth to her first child and a whole lot more.
So all that is left to do is kick off those shoes, pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy this weeks show.

Catching cheating boyfriends, stumbling across dead bodies and advertising one’s services as a professional Pokémon Go trainer – less than a week since the launch of the virtual-meets-real-world app Pokémon Go and the stories it has sparked are kookier than the names of the critters its fans are trying to catch.
Andrea Leadsom – the woman who until this week was Britain’s potential future Prime Minister – seemed to be worrying about Theresa May’s ability to care. Mrs Leadsom commented that she was more “directly” involved in the future of the UK because she had children, while Theresa May had none.
A Sydney Woman reveals she slept in the same bed as her MOTHER until she was 19 – and only stopped because she left home. It began after her parents separated when she was four years old and the mother and daughter had to share a room after moving in with her grandparents. The woman claims she was raised by her mother with ‘healthy boundaries’.
Victoria Beckham is in hot water this week over a photo she posted on instagram of her kissing her 5 year old daughter Harper on the lips.
All this and more on this week’s episode of The Wine O’Clock Show
You all know him as Jack Holden from Home and Away, Eric Edwards from Neighbours and the runner up to Andy Lee in CLEO’s Batchelor of the Year and this week Paul O’Brien joins me on the couch along with Life and Business Coach, Genine Howard.
We talk about Social Media, how it’s a big part of all our lives, but ask the question have we lost the art of face to face communication? This week we have seen Sydney Swans captain Kieren Jack’s mother take to twitter expressing her disappointment in her son, we’ve seen a father mimic his daughter’s Instagram posts and if you’re not following Celeste Barber, then you should!
We have all been following the Oscar Pistorius murder trial over the past couple of years and this week he was sentenced to 6 years prison for the shooting murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. There has been a lot of talk about whether he is guilty or innocent. What do our guests think?
All this and more on this weeks’ episode of The Wine O’Clock Show!

SINGLE MOTHERS
A mother-of-one has slammed single mothers who go out every weekend as she believes the parents of young children should not drink alcohol or have a night off from their responsibilities. She has criticised the “disgraceful, half-hearted parenting” of mothers who go out and drink on the weekend and proceed to look after their children hungover the next day.
Should single mothers with young children be allowed to go out every weekend?
Eddie McGuire made a very poor joke on radio last week. Speculating with North Melbourne chairman James Brayshaw and All Australian selector Danny Frawley about who could participate in next year’s water-dunking Big Freeze challenge, he pledged to pay $20,000 to see veteran journalist Caroline Wilson thrown in and $50,000 “if she stays under”.
The AFL have condemned the commentators who went on to suggest Wilson be forcibly “held” under the water, but while McGuire has been vocal about the matter, social media users have been far less than impressed by his “non-apology” to Wilson
RACQ RETESTING DRIVERS
Queensland’s peak motoring body has put forward a proposal that would see the state’s drivers re-tested on the road rules each time they renew their licence.
STATE OF ORIGIN
Queensland has now won 10 years in a row, should NSW look at replacing Laurie Daley?

It’s been a big week in news so today we brought in the big guns.
This week we chat about schoolyard body image issues, Melbourne’s new rainbow coffee craze, letting our kids play rough and a whole lot more.
Who are our special guests this week? Well lets go find out!
SHOULD TEACHERS BE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT KIDS EAT?
Children as young as 9 are throwing their lunch away due to body image concerns. With eating disorders on the rise, our panel carve up the concept of teacher’s acting as lunchbox watch dogs.
“We put so much on our teachers. They can’t just be on food patrol!” says Melissa Hoyer. The Morning Show’s Larry Emdur points out sometimes the teachers know our kids better than we do, while My Kitchen Rules alumni Sophia Poe wants to see the parents take responsibility for where the message of body shape comes from.
Do you want to see schools checking lunch boxes?
PLAYING IT ROUGH
Jennifer Hart from the University of the Sunshine Coast says play fighting helps children develop an understanding of right and wrong, trust, and conflict resolution.
Ms Hart says parents should encourage more rough play as it helps children develop an understanding of right and wrong.
Other benefits include kids learning about trust, empathy, restraint, cooperation, conflict resolution and coordination.
Do you think kids should play rough and What are your thoughts on this?
A NEW HIPSTER COFFEE TREND HAS HIT MELBOURNE
MELBOURNE is known as the coffee capital of Australia, but it’s just been getting a bit weird lately.
The city is getting pretty experimental when it comes to our caffeine comforts and now rainbow coffee is becoming a thing.
The new drink certainly takes coffee art to another level, with reds, blues and greens swirling around the coffee mug, but it might be an acquired taste, as it’s not exactly coffee you’re getting.
The rainbow coffee is a healthy alternative, created by Too Many Chiefs, a cafe in Brighton in Melbourne’s south east, and owners claim the drink gives you your vitamin C fix, fights the flu, boosts your immune system and acts as an anti-inflammatory.
ELLEN DEGENERES SUED OVER BREAST JOKE USING WOMAN’S NAME
WHAT’S in a name? It seems a lot if it becomes a joke on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
A 35-year-old woman from Georgia is taking legal action after her name was used in a joke on the show during a popular segment called What’s Wrong With These Ads…And These Signs?
The woman’s name is Titi Pierce, which the legal complaint points out is pronounced Tee Tee.
That wasn’t the way Ellen put it and that’s landed her in trouble.
“In all her 35 years of life, no one has ever referred to Ms Pierce as ‘titty’ until the Defendant did so on February 22, 2016 on national television,” according to the complaint.
“Prior to the Defendent’s misdeeds, Ms Pierce has been called only by her name ‘Titi’, which as grammar dictates, is pronounced ‘TEE TEE’.”
According to the complaint the segment led to “immediate ridicule” and because the show did not blank out her personal mobile phone number on the sign, Ms Pierce also received “ridiculing and harassing” calls while attending a family funeral.
It says Titi is a Nigerian name meaning flower and Ms Pierce has “strong, positive” feelings about her name.
Ms Pierce is seeking damages and a permanent stop on the segment being ai
We have another great show lined up as we talk all about the shooting of a gorilla at a zoo, the new finding dory movie introducing same sex couples to children, Pauline Hansen and a whole lot more, so kick off those shoes, crab yourself a wine and enjoy this weeks show.
This week saw the launch of VIVID Sydney and a project that I was very honored to be apart of. The McGrath Foundations Mosaic project.
The McGrath Foundation encouraged Australians to participate in an innovative light installation, which created a message of support for those touched by breast cancer. Each night from now until the 18th June, you can see the thousands of men, women and familes that have participated in this project shine bright on the AMP Building.
Which brings us to our first story today.
Donna Penny has terminal breast cancer. She has been fighting to live since her first diagnosis in 2008. As you can imagine, this battle has had a tremendous impact on those nearest and dearest to Donna, especially her 9 year old son Kai. When Donna was first diagnosed, she searched far and wide for children’s books about cancer to help explain to Kai what was happening to her but found nothing but doom, gloom and disaster.
An elite private school is planning to open from 7am until 7pm in a bid to support working parents struggling to meet professional demands. Presbyterian Ladies College in Perth already welcomes students from 7.30am for sports training or library sessions. The college, which costs up to $22,000-a-year for boarders, now plans to extend hours even further to allow busy working parents ‘more flexibility’ with when they drop off and collect their children.
What do you think of a 12-hour school day for students?
The controversial decision to shoot dead an endangered Gorilla to save a 4-year-old boy who fell into an enclosure has been the talk of the week and now the parents are being investigated about the child’s fall.
Zoo director Thane Maynard said: “[The officials] made a tough choice and they made the right choice because they saved that little boy’s life. It could have been very bad.”
He said a tranquillizer would not have had a quick enough effect.
Where do you stand on the issue?
The trailer for Finding Dory has been released to both fanfare and controversy after viewers pointed out the clip may feature a lesbian couple. Whether this is indeed a lesbian couple or just two women standing next to each other is up for debate, but it has certainly generated a social media storm.
Should same-sex couples be introduced to children through films?
Pauline Hansen as been told she is not welcome in parliament.
The Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull said, “Pauline Hanson is not a welcome presence on the Australian political scene to which he also added – remember she was chucked out of the Liberal party,”
Are we right to banish her from being a MP or is she just misunderstood.
The Wine O’Clock Show S01E14 – This week on the show we welcome special guests Nat McGregor and Craig Griffin to the couch to talk all things, Kiss Bang Love, Billboard wars, Meghan Trainor falling on her “Base” and Nat McGregor belts out some amazing tunes.
