Patents and trademarks are our business brand best friend. Besides giving you legal rights, they protect them. It helps to protect your investment and give you the extra push to take your brand to the next level, and maybe one day, rub shoulders with the big companies on the market.
In this episode, Devin Miller will explain to us the importance of patents and trademarks. Also, he will give us advice about how and when to invest if you are starting-up.
ABOUT DEVIN MILLER
Miller IP Law was founded by Devin Miller, a patent attorney that lives in Utah. As Devin worked for a large law firm helping fortune 100 clients with their intellectual property, he realized that there was not a good resource out there to help start-ups and small businesses understand intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights. As a small business owner, Devin wanted to provide a resource for start-ups and small businesses where they could learn about patents, trademarks, and copyrights and how they relate to business to help small business owners like him build value into their business and protect their assets.

[12:29] Can I do a patent or trademark myself?
The sky's the limit. That includes doing patents or trademarks by ourselves. Everybody can do it. But the best advice we can give you is that if you can get set aside a small portion of your budget, to get a trademark, or to get a patent, you're better to go through an attorney or someone that has experience in that realm. Professionals are professionals for some reason.
