This episodes offers a guided exercise led by Raquel Torrent and from about minute 30 we are talking about our common experience on the first Integral Conference in Budapest in May 2014, the extraordinary way of combining our interior life with information and experimental workshops

We explore the concept of WE. When we have the feeling of belonging to the same group, or not belonging. How can we create this common space? As introduction, as always, we give a short overview of the 4 quadrants of reality in integral theory.

The Feminine Qualities and Their Role in the Four Quadrants of Reality

Heidi Hornlein and Raquel Torrent give a short introduction into that part of Integral Theory which has been outlined by the well know Philosopher Ken Wilber, which maps out the 4 quadrants of reality, the 4 main perspectives through which reality is perceived by human beings.

The “upper left quadrant” is the way in which the individual perceives themselves, there are MY thoughts and feelings, MY interiority. (“The interior of the individual)

The “lower left quadrant” is the way, we perceive ourselves in community. It is the WE, the group with certain ideas and habits, it is the culture in which the individual is embedded. (“the interior of the collective”)

The “lower right quadrant” is the way, people organize themselves, the structures and institutions they create to be able to move on in life. (“The exterior of the collective”)

The upper right quadrant is the way in which one looks on what is happening in an observing and categorizing way. One tries to understand what is going on by examining the facts and connecting the dots. (“The exterior of the individual”)

In this episode Heidi and Raquel begin the “Journey through the 4 Quadrants” by examining more in depth the “upper left”, the ME, what I feel and think.

They share their own journey, the experience of their development. They stress the real importance of the Upper Left quadrants in their lives, also in regard to spirituality.

Here comes in the FEMININE versus the MASCULINE aspect: Feelings and Emotions often is contributed to the Feminine and Thinking for instance to the Masculine.

They give a larger space to explore the Feminine Qualities in the I – Quadrant (begins at 21:00)

ARCHETYPES VERSUS STEREOTYPES – “Feminine and Masculine” or “male and female”?

In this episode Raquel and Heidi talk more in depth about the difference of “feminine”, “masculine”, male” and “female”. They are discussing the levels of development and their impact on the expression of the feminine and masculine, and furthermore about the conditioning they undergo. This leads to the distinction between Feminine and Masculine as “Archetypes” as opposed to “Stereotypes”. What is a healthy expression of these “types”, these different energies? How and when can that occur? – within second tier level of consciousness – and how valuable it is to have the roadmap of the development of consciousness, outlined by Ken Wilber.

This is the first talk between Raquel Torrent and Heidi Hornlein, both engaged in the Integral Community for many years. We will explore the Feminine Aspect and the feminine energy within the integral movement which is based on “Integral Theory” outlined by Ken Wilber. Integral thinking arose as a strong force in the world for some years now and slowly enters into all realms of life. The need to include feminine energy to counter balance the masculine way of abiding in the head is strongly needed. We begin here with the exploration of what is “Feminine” as opposed to “Female” and how we women increased the masculine energy in the world by imitating men in our attempt for liberation.
