Anson Dorrance is one of the most decorated coaches in the history of sports. He is an American soccer coach and currently the head women’s soccer coach at University of North Carolina. They have won 22 national championships in his 41 years coaching the team. His players have won 20 National Player of the Year Awards. He was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2008. They have won 22 conference tournaments, and he has earned the National Coach of the Year 8 times. His teams have won over 90% of their games over four decades. He coached the US Women’s National Team to their first World Cup title in 1991 with such stars as Mia Hamm, Michelle Akers, April Heinrichs, Kristine Lilly and many other accomplished stars. In 2003 Sports Illustrated named North Carolina Women’s Soccer as the greatest college dynasty of all-time.
