A Gathering for the Body, Mind & Spirit...sharing multi-Cultural arts, music, storytelling and friendship. Bringing the walls down... to find the common ground of the People! Come and sit with us tonight as Kelly Montijo-Fink joins us as we have a Girls night out to celebrate her Native American Music Award Nomination for 2010! Talking about life, music and whatever Spirit guides us to share!
Kelly (Mexican, Apache, & Spanish) was born in California now but now resides in the Midwest. She has been singing for as long as she can remember & has performed everything from musical theater, pop, Italian opera, and madrigal arrangements, to mariachi music & Native drum songs.
Kelly considers herself a “song catcher” rather than a song writer. She rarely sits down to write a song, but rather observes, hears, and sees truth & then allows the words and melodies flow from there. Many of her songs are birthed from prayer, dreams, visions, and personal revelations. To say Kelly's work is Powerful and Moving is an understatement, it comes from a spiritual connection that has empowered her to in turn inspire the people...
