Who are you when you strip away your title, your responsibilities, your achievements, your mistakes and the opinions of other people?
In this devotion, we journey through Romans 8 and consider what God says about our identity in Christ. The chapter begins with an extraordinary assurance: there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. It ends with another: nothing can separate us from the love of God.
Between those two declarations, we discover what it means to belong to Christ: to be God's children, led by His Spirit, secure in His love and able to face the future knowing that our identity is not determined by condemnation, circumstances or the voices around us.
This devotion ends with a powerful reminder of who God says we are: chosen, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, the righteousness of God in Christ, children and heirs of God—and more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
So today, take a few minutes, find some quiet time, and ask yourself one important question: Do you really know who you are?
