For the last sermon in this series, we are examining the famous Ark of the Covenant. As we end this series, not only will you hear about how this ornate box tells us everything we need to know about God’s justice and love, but you will also hear the remarkable story of small town in Winona, Mississippi.

When the Hebrew people were wandering through the wilderness, God provided for them by sending them manna from heaven. This Sunday we’re going to discuss how God is using us to be manna from heaven for those who are wandering through the wilderness during this uncertain time.

The celebration of Passover a symbol of the forgiveness and restoration offered by God. In fact, God calls on us as Christians to embody those same values of forgiveness and restoration. We are going to discuss why Christian communities so often struggle to extend grace to those in their midst who have made mistakes.

Part of being a Christian in the 21st Century is being a global citizen and understanding how our actions in one place impact people half way across the world. This Sunday, we discuss how the 10 plagues brought on Egypt inform our responsibility to the human race.

Throughout our lives, we are required to choose one path over another—picking a career, moving far away from home, choosing to stay with our significant other, having children, etc. What we don’t often consider is how those big decisions are often determined by the many smaller decisions that have come before it. This Sunday, we are going to explore this idea as God calls on Moses to do something way outside of his comfort zone.

When Moses has an encounter with a burning bush, he discovers that God is present in a place that seemed desolate and barren. This Sunday we are going to discuss what we need to do to see the burning bushes that are right in front our eyes, but we often fail to see.

The church is supposed to be a place where anyone can walk through the doors and feel welcome. The problem is that churches are often very tribal—everyone tends look, act and think a certain way. We are going to explore how to break down that tribalism so that our church can be a community open to all different kinds of people.

Exodus tells us of a time when the Hebrew people were living under a dark cloud of oppression because they were enslaved by the Egyptians. And yet, somehow they were able to thrive. Examining how they were able rise above their circumstances is an important lesson for our day and time.
