You see it all the time. Managers and leaders demand excellence. Your KPI's, OKR's, SMART objectives, and so on, keep you on your toes and in the know of what gets you to the next level. What's not measured is heart, passion, and intent. There seldom is enough time to identify rising talent because we're too in the weeds trying to stay afloat.
There is a way forward through this - if not through you than it's with those around you. Working to promote your colleagues, even your mid-level manager to a higher position will do you an enormous amount of good for your career.
