About the show 52 pick up
The script is by TJ Dawe and Rita Bozi. The show in London is performed by Adam Slynn and Mel Oskar. It is an astutely intimate roller coaster, 52 Pick Up works like memory – not linear, but swerving from belly-busting comedy, to hysterically universal truths to quiet heartbreak in the literal drop of a card.
TJ Dawe is a Canadian actor, playwright and director. He has written a number of plays, including The Slipknot, Labrador and The Power of Ignorance, which he co-wrote. He has worked quite a bit with solo performances, both as an actor and a writer.
Rita Bozi is a Hungarian-Canadian writer and playwright. She has also worked as a dancer and actress. Earlier this year she went to Iceland to finish her first novel.
52 Pick Up was first performed at the Montreal Fringe Festival in 2000 where it won the Chapter’s Best Text Award. Since then it has been performed and well received in Australia, New Zealand, at the Edinburgh Fringe and all over the United States. It is now time to bring this award-winning play to London.
