([email protected]) By Jonathan Clark Another state in India passed anti-conversion law India’s state of Maharashtra became the 13th in the country to enact an “anti-conversion” law last week. It’s the country’s second-most populous state. This has prompted thousands of churches in the area to have worshippers sign a form. The form simply says the person is attending freely and not under coercion. India’s “anti-conversion” laws are often used to target Christians. Hindu nationalists have attacked churches in Maharashtra 11 times in the last six months. India is ranked 12th on the Open Doors’ World Watch List of the most dangerous places to be a Christian. In John 15:18-19, Jesus said, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Australia’s new assisted suicide law ABC News Australia reports Australia’s Northern Territory passed a bill legalizing assisted suicide last week. The territory was the first in the world to legalize voluntary euthanasia in the 1990s. Australia’s federal government overturned the law within a couple years. But in 2022, the government reversed its decision, allowing the territory to legalize assisted suicide once again. Now, all states and territories in Australia allow for this form of killing. Over 7,200 people have died this way in the country since 2019. Trump’s Venezuelan oil deal gives access to 65 billion barrels The Trump administration announced a major oil deal with Venezuela on Friday. The deal would give the United States access to 17 oil fields in Venezuela with proven reserves of 65 billion barrels of oil. That’s about 20 percent of the country’s reserves. By comparison, the U.S. has 46 billion barrels of proven oil reserves. President Donald Trump hopes the deal will lower gas prices for Americans. However, analysts suggest that the deal will not relieve prices in the short-term. Homeland Security investigates voter fraud in 9 states CNN reports that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is investigating voter fraud in nine states ahead of the midterm elections in November. These states include California, Connecticut, Georgia, Missouri, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Wisconsin. The Trump administration is pushing for states to phase out certain electronic voting systems and move to paper ballots. The administration has threatened to withhold significant homeland security funds from states that do not adopt such election changes. ICE arrested 51,000 immigration arrests in July U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement made 51,000 immigration arrests in July. That’s up from 43,000 arrests in June. Both months set records for the agency. Nearly 20,000 of July’s arrests were in Texas and Florida. Both states have been very cooperative with the Trump administration’s mass deportation efforts. Gallup poll: Americans supportive of marriage if couple has kids A new Gallup poll found that more Americans are supportive of marriage when children are involved. Thirty-nine percent of U.S. adults say it is very important for a couple to be legally married if they have a child together. That’s up from 29 percent in 2020. However, it’s down from 49 percent in 2006. Gallup noted, “Weekly church attendees show one of the largest increases since 2020 in the belief that couples, who have a child together, should be married, up 24 points, from 41% to 65%.” Bible societies distributed 148 million Scriptures in 2025 And finally, the United Bible Societies distributed over 148 million printed Scriptures in 2025. The top countries for Bible distribution last year were Brazil, China, India, Nigeria, and the Philippines. Rev. Dirk Gevers, Secretary General of the United Bibles Societies, said, “While printed Scriptures continue to reach hundreds of millions of people each year, digital engagement is growing, opening new opportunities to connect with the Bible through mobile devices and online platforms.” This year is the organization’s 80th anniversary. Since 1946, the Bible society has distributed 25 billion Scriptures, including 1.1 billion complete Bibles. ([email protected]) By Kevin Swanson and Timothy Reed Russia shot down 239 Ukrainian drones The Russian-Ukrainian War is not relenting. Russia fired almost 1,500 drones into Ukraine over the last four days. Meanwhile, Russia reportedly shot down 239 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory over the last day. Both countries are targeting food distribution and energy infrastructure over a long and drawn out conflict. Russian President Vladimir Putin is also preparing to send another large conscription to the battlefront, reports The Economist. Russia considers nuclear weapons against Ukraine A leader of the Russian legislature and the country’s nationalist party, Alexis Zhuvraflev, announced on Sunday that the use of nuclear weapons in the war is now under consideration. In his words, “If necessary, we are obliged to use [tactical nuclear weapons]. ... If we need to strike, we will strike.” Russian President Putin appears increasingly frustrated with the progress of the war. A source informed The Economist that Putin is afraid “they will hang me” if war objectives are not accomplished. For greater context, the Kyiv Post quoted U.S. CIA Director John Ratcliffe as saying the life expectancy of a Russian soldier on the front line was “less than 35 minutes.” He added that Moscow had captured only 1% of Ukraine’s total territory during the previous 18 months. How Chinese manufacturing and trade surplus is a military advantage China’s manufacturing productive capacity is on the increase — all told, about double that of the United States. In 2025, China made 960.8 million metric tons of crude steel versus only 82 million tons in the United States. China produces three times the number of automobiles compared to the U.S. And China’s machine-tool production is six-fold that of the United States. China’s trade surplus is hitting $1 trillion this year while America’s trade deficit is going the other direction — now an annual rate of $900 billion. Indeed, China's enormous manufacturing base becomes one of its greatest military strategic advantages. Politician in Alberta, Canada upset about tariff war with America Alberta, Canada Premier Danielle Smith shared her thoughts on the ongoing trade war between Canada and the United States. Listen. SMITH: “Tariffs and counter-tariffs are harmful to both countries involved. They disrupt businesses, threaten jobs, drive up inflation, decrease productivity, and strain relationships between allies. “What is happening between Canada and the United States right now is tragic, unjustified, and wholly unnecessary to what has been one of the largest and most successful trading relationships in world history.” Smith went on to push back against suggested oil tariffs against the United States. SMITH: “I cannot think of a more disastrous policy decision than cutting off or taxing Alberta's oil to the United States. Doing so would absolutely devastate the Canadian economy. It would not only extinguish the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of Albertans, it would economically hobble our friends and neighbors in other provinces to the east.” Flash flood in Nepal killed 955; 4,471 people are missing The death toll from flash flooding in Nepal has reached 955, with another 4,471 people missing as of today, reports the French News Agency. (We have a link to the eye-opening video from CBS Evening News in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com) This flash flood has shaped up to be the worst disaster in Nepal since the earthquake of 2015 which killed around 9,000 people. It may also be the worst flash flood disaster in recorded history — topping the Peruvian glacial lake outburst of 1941. American economy is lagging America’s golden age hasn’t quite arrived yet. The U.S. economy is lagging — registering the lowest economic output since 2020, and then again back in 2009. The latest reading on the Gross Domestic Product from the second quarter puts annual output at 1.47%. Removing the contributions from Artificial Intelligence, the annual output is an anemic 0.9%. Economists have pointed out that the bang for the buck from federal deficits is not working like it used to work. In the 1990s, the Keynesian approach yielded 3.1% growth with 2.1% deficits. During the 2000s, this decreased to 1.9% growth with 2.3% deficits. During the 2010s, this decreased to only 2.4% growth with 4.8% deficits. And, over the last five years, only 2.4% growth with 8% deficits. Over the last three decades, the United States has moved from periods of strong economic growth with little or no federal deficit to historically large peacetime deficits accompanying substantially slower economic growth. Deuteronomy 15:5b-6 repels this debt in these words: “Carefully obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe with care all these commandments which I command you today. For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.” New Jersey bans prayer and protests at abortion mills New Jersey Democratic Governor Rebecca Sherrill has signed a bill into law which would ban prayer and protests outside of abortion mills. The law specifically prevents an individual from attempting to “injure, threaten, intimidate, or physically block patients or providers…to interfere with reproductive healthcare services.” Shawn Carney, CEO of 40 Days for Life, argued, “Prayer is not a crime. Holding a sign is not intimidation. Offering a woman help is not coercion. This law is designed to scare people of faith off the sidewalks outside abortion facilities by creating the constant threat of prosecution and costly lawsuits.” Proverbs 31:8-9 exhorts all of us to “Open your mouth for the speechless, in the cause of all who are appointed to die. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.” Sent a polite, 3-sentence note to New Jersey Democratic Governor Rebecca Sherrill objecting to her decision to ban prayer and peaceful protests outside abortion mills. Send it to: PO Box 001, Trenton, NJ 08625. 11,000 Americans infected by lettuce parasite That cyclosporiasis outbreak, attributed to Taylor Farms de Mexico, has now infected over 11,000 Americans across 20 states, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Fox Business reports a 30% decrease in lettuce sales across the country. The culprit is a single-celled parasite that produces stomach cramps, nausea, and fatigue. Texas looks to end no-fault divorce The state of Texas is looking to end no-fault divorce. In its legislative priorities for 2026-2028, the Texas GOP State Convention lists protecting kids as a major priority, specifically mentioning the promotion of marriage, parental rights, the end of homosexual adoptions, and the end of no-fault divorce. The document further explained, “When a marriage breaks down, family law proceedings should respect 50/50 equal parenting presumptions in the best interest of children.” Other priorities for the Texas GOP include border security, banning taxpayer-funded lobbying, and equal protection for the unborn. New NASA telescope 100 times more powerful than Hubble telescope And finally, on Sunday, August 30th at 7:26am Eastern Time, NASA launched a rocket to place the next generation telescope into our Solar System from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Nancy Grace Roman telescope, named after NASA's first chief of astronomy Nancy Grace Roman, is 100 times more powerful than both the James Webb telescope and the Hubble space telescope. It will take about 100 days to reach its destination — about one million miles from Earth. That’s equal to the distance of orbiting the Earth’s circumference of 24,900 miles 40 times over. ([email protected]) By Adam McManus Burmese military killed pastor and another believer The Burma Research Institute has confirmed that Rev. William, who used no last name, and another Chin Christian, Nam Ceu, were extrajudicially murdered on June 4th by the Burmese military dictatorship in Myanmar, reports International Christian Concern. Rev. William had pastored the Chungcung Baptist Church in Chin State for more than 25 years. He was arrested with Ceu in May and had been detained by the military since then. Sources told the Burma Research Institute that Rev. William and Nam Ceu were killed for allegedly supporting the Hakha Chinland Defense Force, which is fighting against the Burmese military dictatorship. Psalm 116:15 says, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Zo Tum Hmung, President of the Burma Research Institute, said, “We call the Trump administration to protect the persecuted Christians in Burma.” Send a polite, 4-sentence note to Kyaw Moe Tun, the Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations. Democrat James Talarico: Muslims and Christians worship same God James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senator in Texas who is running against Republican Ken Paxton, the current Texas Attorney General, falsely claimed that Muslims worship the same God as Jews and Christians. Listen. TALARICO: “Christians and Muslims and Jews all worship the same God. Muslims love Jesus. They love Moses and Abraham. We are all branches on the same tree as the Abrahamic faiths. “So. it's heartbreaking to watch extremists, whether they are Christian nationalists or whether they're the Taliban or al-Qaeda, perverting these beautiful traditions, that have so much in common, to attack others and consolidate their own power.” There are three primary differences between Christianity and Islam. First, regarding the nature of God, Christians teach that God is the Trinity—one God existing in three co-equal, co-eternal persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19) By contrast, Islam completely rejects the Trinity. Second, Christians believe that Jesus is the divine Son of God and God incarnate who physically died on the cross for the atonement of the sins of the elect and rose from the dead. (John 1:1,14) By contrast, while Islam reveres Jesus as a major, virgin-born prophet and messenger of God, it explicitly denies His divinity, crucifixion, and resurrection. And third, Christianity teaches that salvation is a free gift of grace received through personal faith in the finished sacrificial work of Jesus Christ, rather than by human effort. (Ephesians 2:8-9) By contrast, Islam teaches that salvation depends on total submission to Allah’s will, adherence to the Five Pillars of Islam, and the final judgment of one's deeds. Therefore, Muslims and Christians clearly do not worship the same God. Georgia Democrat distanced himself from antisemitic leftist Georgia Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff has offered sharp criticism of President Donald Trump which generated buzz about Ossoff potentially running for president in 2028. That, in turn, has attracted some left-wing figures who have lauded his messaging like left-wing streamer Hasan Piker, who told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency in April that he was “intrigued” by Ossoff. There are two developments of note. First, Ossoff, whose father is Jewish, is facing criticism from some of Georgia’s local Jewish community over his votes to block certain arms sales to Israel. Second, Senator Ossoff has distanced himself from Hasan Piker over recent comments that many interpreted as justifying threats to American Jews, reports the Jewish Telegraph Agency. Speaking on a Twitch livestream on August 20th, Piker said this. PIKER: “If Jews in America keep putting this idea out there that they are singularly invested in Israel, eventually someone’s going to come around and take action. Not against the state of Israel, mind you, but against American Jews.” Last Thursday, according to Fox News, an Ossoff spokesman said that the senator “unreservedly rejects reckless and dangerous rhetoric suggesting that policy advocacy invites violence against the Jewish community or any community.” In Genesis 12:3, God said, “I will make [Israel] into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on Earth will be blessed through you.” Undercover video exposes GOP Sen. Murkowski on SAVE Act And finally, liberal Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska stood on the Senate floor and painted a grim picture of the supposed damage the SAVE America Act, or the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, would do in her home state. This is the bill that would ensure that American citizens — and only American citizens — should decide American elections. It would simply require: A valid ID before registering to vote in a federal election. Proof of citizenship. No Mail-in Ballots (except for illness, disability, military, or travel). Listen to Senator Murkowski’s claim. MURKOWSKI: “What we're talking about right now is just the registration to vote. So, you're in Unalaska -- say you're a fisherman or a teacher -- the flight to Anchorage, because this is where you're going to have to go -- you're going to have to go into Anchorage: 800 air miles, $1,100 per seat, if you can maybe get on a charter.” James O’Keefe, an undercover journalist with the O’Keefe Media Group and the Justice League, flew to Unalaska to find out firsthand if Senator Murkowski’s claim was true. O'KEEFE: “I'm James O'Keefe, and I'm in the middle of absolutely nowhere, about 800 miles off the coast of Alaska, on a remote island in the Aleutian Islands. “Now, Senator Lisa Murkowski says that one of the reasons she's not going to pass the SAVE Act is because of people that live here on this island of Unalaska. “Senator Murkowski saying if the SAVE Act passes, online registration goes away, and the residents here, the few thousand people that live here, are going to have to fly 800 miles and spend thousands of dollars to go to Anchorage to take care of their business. “But all the people we spoke with here, they all said that that's wrong, including the post office, the library, the city clerk, the DMV. We didn't know there was a DMV here. Everyone we spoke to here said they're able to register to vote here. They're able to prove citizenship by going to the library. “So, Senator Murkowski says, ‘If you're a fisherman in Unalaska, the closest election office is 800 miles away; it would cost $1,500. You would also need a hotel, cabs, and food while in Anchorage. But the librarian just told us differently.” Here is the portion of the undercover investigation with a female undercover agent, who accompanied O’Keefe, to the library in Unalaska. UNDERCOVER FEMALE AGENT: “Just wanted to learn a little bit more about the process to get an ID. “ LIBRARIAN: “We do passports here.” UNDERCOVER AGENT: “Oh, you do passports here.” UNDERCOVER O’KEEFE: “Mmm.” UNDERCOVER FEMALE AGENT: “That's good to know, though, that if somebody wants to confirm their citizenship, they can do it here.” UNDERCOVER O’KEEFE: “To get the Alaska ID, do you get it here or back in Anchorage?” LIBRARIAN: “Oh no, here. The DMV should be the near the police station.” UNDERCOVER O’KEEFE: “So, we don't have to go to Anchorage to get it.” LIBRARIAN: “No, no, no. As long as you have all the paperwork you need.” UNDERCOVER O’KEEFE: “But I read in the newspaper that the senator [Lisa Murkowski], said, ‘Oh, they're going to pass this SAVE Act, and everyone's got to go to Anchorage to get it.’” LIBRARIAN: “I don't think so.” UNDERCOVER O’KEEFE: “Oh no. ([email protected]) By Jonathan Clark Iranian Muslim leaders killed 33 Christian ministers recently Iranian authorities have killed at least 33 Christian ministers in the past few months. The pastors were serving with Iran Alive Ministries, a Texas-based organization that supports house churches in the country. Authorities also arrested 131 Christians associated with the organization. Some of them are now on death row. Despite this persecution, the ministry reports 5,849 Muslims have converted to Christianity this year. Iran Alive founder Hormoz Shariat told the Baptist Press, “Christian prisoners consider prison as their place of ministry and they are leading many people to Christ.” The Apostle Paul was also a witness in prison. Acts 16:25 says, “But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.” Iran-American War reaches sixth month The war between Iran and the United States continued into its six month last week. The United States carried out strikes on Iran’s southern coast on Tuesday. Iran fired on U.S. bases in the region. It’s the biggest exchange between the two countries since July, according to Reuters. Despite ongoing conflict, oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz have rebounded to about two-thirds of pre-war levels. Christian convert from Iran received asylum in Canada A Christian convert from Iran recently received asylum in Canada after being deported from the U.S. Twenty-seven-year old Artemis Ghasemzadeh entered America in 2024. If returned to Iran, she would face extreme persecution. International Christian Concern noted, “Refugees fleeing religious persecution have traditionally been granted asylum on American soil, but they faced more stringent border and refugee laws under the Trump administration. Ghasemzadeh pursued asylum in Canada after lawyers advised her that the United States was unlikely to allow her to return.” Litigation over the Abortion Kill Pill delated until after midterms Litigation in the U.S. over the abortion kill pill is being delayed until after the midterm elections in November. The case began last December. Florida and Texas challenged the original approval of the abortion drug mifepristone in 2000 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. However, a federal judge paused the lawsuit on Sunday until at least December 1. If successful, the lawsuit would make the abortion drug unavailable in all states. Florida removing all Flock cameras Florida is removing all Flock cameras from state roads. Flock cameras automatically read license plates and capture vehicle data for law enforcement, neighborhoods, and businesses. The Florida Department of Transportation recently revoked permits for license plate readers, including Flock cameras along highways. The cameras are the subject of privacy concerns across the nation, especially alleged misuse of the cameras by police officers. Listen to comments from Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis. DESANTIS: “I'm all about having law enforcement have tools to be able to hold criminals accountable. I think that's important that we do that. No one's been stronger on law enforcement than me. But I don't want to have this become a surveillance state.” American church attendance up Churches are seeing more people attend worship services in recent years. A new survey from Lifeway Research found 54 percent of U.S. Protestant pastors report a growing church. Thirty-percent report a plateaued church. And 16 percent report a declining church. Scott McConnell, executive director of Lifeway Research, noted, “Given the trajectory of many churches before COVID, we expected to see more pastors reporting declines in attendance. However, we continue to see a majority of pastors saying their attendance is higher than two years ago.” Archeological proof that Christ’s tomb in garden And finally, recent archaeological discoveries in Jerusalem support biblical accounts. Francesca Stasolla is an archaeology professor at the Sapienza University of Rome. Last year, she led an excavation focused on the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. The site is believed to be the location of Jesus’ crucifixion and the empty tomb. The area was used as a stone quarry before Roman occupation. Later it was used for agriculture and tombs. The archeological effort discovered ancient seeds and pollen there. Stasolla told Fox News Digital that the pollen and seeds date to “between the use of the quarry and the Roman age, when the area had a funerary use”, meaning it was used for burying the dead. This aligns with the New Testament. We are just now learning about what happened in early July to a Christian family in Chhattisgarh State. After the believers refused to participate in a Hindu reconversion ceremony called Ghar Wapsi, a radical Hindu mob tore down the roof of the family’s home, leaving seven people exposed to heavy monsoon rains and unable to live safely in the structure, reports International Christian Concern. Around 8:00 a.m. on July 2nd, a group of nearly 100 anti-Christian activists surrounded the home of “Kamal Sinha” to force him to undergo Ghar Wapsi, a reconversion ceremony back to Hinduism. When Sinha refused, tensions escalated, and the mob climbed onto the roof and ripped it apart. The man explained, “All of our harvested crops were drenched in the rainwater after the roof was destroyed.” The leader of the mob, named Dhruv, confronted Sinha, demanding that he and his family renounce Christianity. He said, “By becoming Christians, you have polluted the village and defiled our gods and goddesses. You should not live here. You do not worship our deities, do not offer coconuts or other offerings, and do not accept the prasad given to our gods. And you follow another religion and another God. Therefore, leave the village. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to live here. We will stop your farming, demolish your house, and drive your entire family out.” As a result of the attack and ongoing pressure, Sinha’s family was forced to shut down their small grocery shop. The mob also cut off the water and electricity connections to the Christian family’s house. Just this year, hundreds of Christian families in Chhattisgarh, India have become homeless, building temporary shelters in the nearby forest. Please pray that God’s grace would be sufficient for these hurting believers and God’s power would be made perfect in their weakness, as 2 Corinthians 12:9 articulates. Send a polite, 4-sentence note to Vinay Kwatra, the Indian Ambassador to America, asking that he urge his government to protect Christians from the radical Hindus who persecute them. Address it to the Embassy of India, 2107 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20008. 192 House Democrats refused to disavow socialism On September 1st, almost every House Democrat voted against a congressional resolution disavowing socialism and calling for the enactment of President Trump’s election security bill known as the SAVE America Act, reports the New York Post. The non-binding resolution, introduced by Republican Congressman Jeff Crank of Colorado, asked lawmakers to condemn and denounce “socialism in all its forms,” including the increasingly influential Democratic Socialists of America movement, and oppose the implementation of socialist policies in the United States. The resolution passed in a 220-192 vote, with 192 Democrats opposing the measure. Only eight Democrats voted with all the Republicans in support of the resolution. They included Representatives Kathy Castor of Florida, Henry Cuellar of Texas, Don Davis of North Carolina, Jared Golden of Maine, Vicente Gonzalez of Texas, Marie Perez of Washington, Darren Soto of Florida, and Gabe Vasquez of New Mexico. The resolution also called Congress to: “Reaffirm its support for free, fair and secure elections. “Reiterate that American elections are for American citizens only. “Recommit itself to upholding the Constitution of the United States. “Call for the enactment of the SAVE America Act to ensure election security, increase public confidence in America’s voting system, and close loopholes in order to prevent noncitizens from voting in elections.” Call your two senators at 202-224-3121, 24 hours a day/7 days a week, and ask them to vote for the SAVE America Act which will ensure that only U.S. citizens can vote in the elections. Tell the Capitol Switchboard operator to patch you through in two separate calls and wait for the option to leave a voicemail message on an issue of concern. ICE looking to create national database of voters In a bid to tackle voter fraud, Immigration and Customs Enforcement is preparing to award a contract worth up to $5 million to a company that will create a national database of voters. ICE first explained what the contract would entail in a document published last week. The document said, “The purpose … is for the handling and secure delivery of publicly available voter registration files and voter history files to support Homeland Security Investigations fraud detection and data segmentation activities.” ICE says that the agency will initially provide a list of specific states it wants to acquire public voter registration files from, though the successful contractor will need to have the capability to obtain data from all 50 states. America’s declining fertility rate In an article entitled “What can we do about low fertility rates?”, World Magazine reported that American fertility has dropped dramatically. Among 1,000 women of childbearing age, they will only have 1,600 children. That’s well under the 2,100 children needed to hold a population steady. In its 2026 State of Fertility Report called “The Demographic Dead End,” the Institute for Family Studies wrote, “The evidence suggests the explanation for this may be more cultural than financial. After all, there are identifiable differences between those who are having children and those who are not.” Among Americans under 30, regular churchgoers want three children and those who never attend church want about two. Psalm 127:3 declares, “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him.” Minnesota: 1 person killed, 5 people injured including 2 police officers Authorities confirmed that at least one person was killed during Wednesday’s shooting in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, reports One America News. On Wednesday afternoon, September 2nd, five individuals were wounded, including two police officers near the Minneapolis Convention Center. Saturday Evening Post to cease publication And finally, after 205 years, the Saturday Evening Post, the famed magazine that printed its first issues on Ben Franklin’s Old City printing press and whose Norman Rockwell covers defined the optics of quintessential 20th-century Americana, will print its last issue early next year, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer. According to the Mystic Museum of Art, Rockwell’s earnest and unpretentious attitude to his work also characterized his subject matter. He said, “I showed the America I knew and observed to others who might not have noticed.” Rockwell loved looking at the people around him: middle class children, families, and adults, as they played, worked, visited a doctor, or fixed a flat tire. He had an eye for everyday settings. By turns humorous and deeply moving, Rockwell’s subjects found an enthusiastic public. According to The Saturday Evening Post, his work helped raise its subscription base to 6,900,000 nationwide by 1960. Sadly, subscribers received a letter in the September issue, which arrived in mailboxes this week, stating that the January/February 2027 issue of The Saturday Evening Post will be the publication’s last printed edition.
