Charlie came into the Worms studio to talk about his brilliant new book, Drool, out now with Rough Trade Books, and we are seriously obsessed with it!

The first guest of our new season is the incredible MARTINE SYMS, whose exhibition Knot Eye is currently on at Sadie Coles. Martine stopped by the Worms Studio to share her diary before getting extremely candid about her journey with endometriosis, seeing a demon in Target, The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron, and much more.

Isabella Burley is a creative consultant based in London and New York. Most recently she served as the Chief Marketing Officer at Acne Studios. From 2015 to 2021, she held the position of editor-in-chief at Dazed & Confused, taking the helm of the youth culture title at just 24 years old. She is the founder of Climax Books.

Lauren Elkin is an award-winning French and American writer and translator, most recently the author of Vocal Break, a book that explores the transformative space where women’s voices shift between registers, blending memoir, feminist critique, and cultural history. 

Michelle Tea is the author of over a dozen books of memoir, fiction, poetry and children's lit. Her memoir Valencia won the Lambda Literary Award for Best Lesbian Fiction. Her recent-ish essay collection, Against Memoir, was awarded the PEN/America Diamonstein-Speilvogel Award for the Art of the Essay. She is also the recipient of the legendary Rona Jaffe Awards, and a 2021 Guggenheim Fellow.

Luna Carmoon is a self-taught writer and director from South East London.  An original, provocative voice, her writing is subversive, distinctly dissecting the absurd with the mundane rooted in womanhood, working-class culture, and the mythology of memory. 

Luna’s debut feature film, Hoard was met with critical acclaim, world premiering at Venice in 2023 and winning several Critics’ Week prizes, including the audience award. Luna has recently been awarded the BFI and Chanel Filmmaker Award 2025. 

Sophie Lewis is a London-born translator and editor. With Gitanjali Patel, she co-founded the Shadow Heroes translation workshops enterprise. Lewis’s translations have been shortlisted for the Scott Moncrieff and Republic of Consciousness prizes, and longlisted for the International Booker Prize. She won the 2022 French-American Foundation prize for non-fiction translation with Nastassja Martin’s anthropology memoir In the Eye of the Wild.

Ash Sarkar is a writer, journalist, lecturer and political commentator, and a contributing editor at Novara Media. She’s written for The Guardian, The Independent and HuffPost, and you might’ve seen her on British TV and radio shows like Question Time and Good Morning Britain.

Arcadia Molinas is a writer, editor and performer. She is the online editor of Worms Magazine.Phoenix Yemi is a Nigerian-British poet, founder of Black Geographies, and the voice behind our A Worm Moon column.Summer Moraes aka Mother Of The Insane is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily through writing and performance. She is also the host of the worms podcast.

Stephanie LaCava is a New York–based writer whose work navigates desire, identity, and cultural myth. Her latest novel, Nymph was published in October, 2025.
