Throughout scripture, trees are mentioned more than any living thing other than humans or God. This week we will read, reflect, and pray about how God uses trees from Genesis through Revelation as an image of creation, promises, prophecy, redemption, freedom, and flourishing. Today, we will read the story of the creation of the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and reflect on humanity’s choice between these two trees.

Praise be to God that in Jesus you have a good shepherd who left the 99 to rescue you. He laid his life down, as a good shepherd does, so that you could be redeemed. Now, the awesome realities of Psalm 23 are available to you.

Psalm 51 is a lament of David, asking God to forgive his sins and remove them. This Psalm encourages us to turn to God in our weaknesses as well, and receive His forgiveness.

Today’s prayer is over Psalm 34. This Psalm prompts us to praise God who is near to the brokenhearted.

Today’s prayer will be about Psalm 62, when David urges his soul to find rest in God alone. Our prayer will be focused on finding our rest in God.
