The archetype of the “Wounded Healer” from Carl Jung refers to those who have developed an immense amount of empathy through fighting their own vulnerabilities and struggles, and have a deep desire to assist others in their journey. They are armed with the wisdom from their experience as well as that of others. Wounded Healers strive to help us circumnavigate obstacles with the integration of shadow work while developing an authentic love for self and others. However, this way of being presents a certain paradox in the life of the wounded healer.
