Danielle does not have the "entrepreneurial gene." She's risk averse. She doesn't like taking chances, she works with tools she knows and loves. Even her job title is Risk Manager.

But her love for bulldogs, her desire to create, and her interest in giving back has overpowered her fears and launched her into a new world of designing and printing quality apparel and accessories, and she's fallen in love with it.

She doesn't have it all figured out - she's learning a lot as she goes. But she's going.

Sometimes we can wait too long to find our passion.

An estimated 80% of Americans are unhappy with their employment situation, but one career coach, consultant, and counselor supposes that the reason many of us stay in jobs we aren't happy with, is because we're waiting to "find our passion."

It's important to do work that you care about, but don't let the pursuit of passion render you motionless.

Sometimes, a better approach is to follow your curiosity. You may not have it all figured out. You'll stumble along the way. But you'll gain valuable experience, and you might make some great connections that can lead to something amazing in the future.

But what about when it gets scary? Fear is another big reason we don't move forward on our goals. Often, though, the fear we anticipate isn't a real, tangible thing, but the worst-case "what ifs" we've imagined.

In the face of fear, sometimes wisdom dictates that we slam on the brakes, or turn around. Or at least, that we slow down and proceed with caution. But sometimes in the face of great fear, the best course of action is to step on the gas and buckle up.

Sometimes small changes can lead to amazing results. I've finally started writing my book after years of putting it off, and soon I will hold in my hand a printed manuscript of my first draft.

What changed?

I've experienced a major mindset shift, and it has changed so much about my process, and my progress. I've managed to unlock a level of creative freedom and energy that I only dreamed of before, and I want to let you in on it.

I am a normal guy. I'm a husband, a dad, a corporate employee. I've worked for large companies my entire career, and I've mostly enjoyed my time there.

But for the longest time, I've had this idea that I should be doing more. I wanted to write a book. For most of my life, though, I thought that was simply impossible. Who can write an entire book? That seemed so insurmountable. What am I going to do, quit my job and move to some cabin in the woods? Not very feasible.

But I realized that things like writing books weren't reserved for some elite class of people that I could never be a part of. The only thing keeping me from being a writer, I realized, was the fact that I wasn't writing anything!

What goal or idea have you been avoiding? Today is a great day to make a plan and start making progress.
